Record Keeping

All of our work is fully auditable with access to exactly

what service was carried out at any given evening and

official temperature forecasts in the event of a claim

being made against you. When service is completed

you will recieve a Service Completion Report via

email; giving you peace of mind knowing your site(s)

will be safe and fully covered should there be any icy

weather conditions within the next 24 hours.

Weather Forecasting

We use MeteoGroup, Europe’s largest private weather

company, renowned for its forecasting accuracy,

which over the last decade has consistently

surpassed targets set by the Highways Agency.

We receive accurate localised weather forecasts

twice daily. When icy conditions or snow are forecast,

we will keep you informed by email if service is scheduled

for that evening.

Vehicle Tracking

Tracking on our vehicles gives visibility of the entire

fleet in seconds. Detailed reports and historical data

can be fed back to customers as well as being

analysed by us for more effective route planning,

increased response times and efficient vehicle

usage. Locating, tracking and monitoring our

vehicles activity, we know precisely when operators

arrive, grit and leave a site. We have a full history of

all our activity on site at our finger tips.

Snow Clearance

Ice Road Gritters offers a Bespoke Snow Clearance

service for all customers no matter how big or small

your site may be.

ATV’s and manually operated snow ploughs are used

for pathways, walkways and any areas that our bigger

Snow Clearance Machinery are unable to access.

JCB’s and 4x4’s mounted with snow ploughs are

used for car parks, roads and any other bigger areas

that require Mechanical Snow Clearance.

Period of Operation

The Winter Gritting Service is normally operational

from around mid-October to mid-April. Contingency

arrangements are in place should there be adverse

weather conditions outside this period. During the

Winter Service period, organisational arrangements

will ensure the operation is available 24hrs per day,

7 days per week.

Ice Road Gritters use our own local teams and

operators and we keep in control of the operation at all

times. This ensures we get to all our sites during

extreme weather periods.

Winter Maintenance Equipment

Our equipment is modern, efficient and highly

manoeuvrable. We use towed or mounted spreading

equipment depending on the layout and size of

your site.

We use Hand Spreaders to grit areas like foot-

paths, fire exit routes, walkways, pathways and

forecourts. We’re dedicated to making your

premises as safe as possible.
