Creating a CityAs per usual, my creativity when it comes to naming things knows no boundaries. I started on Easy because well, that is what I always use. I have also turned off disasters, that will come in the scenarios later.

The whole screenBecause this journal would be really difficult to tell what is going on if I didn’t edit any of the images I am using this slide to show what my desktop looked like while playing.

Full MapThis is the whole map for the game, the highlighted area serves to make it harder to tell what is going on in the actual city if you use any of the tools to show you where problems are.

Top ToolbarSo this is what I see at the top of the screen. Because the game starts in Fastest mode it looks like I started in 1910. This could be my downfall in the scenarios because I don’t know how to change that.

The actual toolsThe top box is the actual tools used to build the city in game, the second box is used to show you where problem areas are in that smaller map with the highlighted area I showed you earlier. I almost never use that one.

Getting the basic layout startedIt is a good thing I have a desktop and a laptop. I am playing the game on the desktop and used the laptop (which cannot play the game) to see the webpage with the map I am copying.

BudgetI run at a loss for a few years, part of why I always start on Easy.

Basic grid setSims are starting to move in and buildings are starting to be built.

Info ScreenThis is one of the info screens that pops up when your City achieves certain goals you don’t know about. I will try to catch these as I get to them, but no promises.

Pollution alertEven with the ideal grid suggested online industry always causes pollution. The suggested cure, lots of parks.

1926This is the first year that I have had income in this game. It does take a while, but I haven’t been aggressively building although I did drop the tax rate 1%

Working on the railwayI decided to go with railways instead of roads to help cut down on pollution and to eliminate traffic as I have never been able to get a city that didn’t have traffic.

StadiumThe Sims asked for a Stadium and since I am a benevolent ruler, I gave them one.

Max populationI think everything has been made to max size for what has been built. I let it run for a while without watching it to bankroll some money for when I turn it on again next week.
