For our Chamber, the month of March was quite hectic and full of activities & meetings with Government Ministers and Officials. I would like to share with you some significant developments. We successfully organised a Press Conference highlighting & focusing pending/unresolved issues related to Free Hold Land Scheme for the Gandhidham Complex. This was followed-up by the meetings with Revenue Minister, Gujarat of Government, Collector of Kachchh, Secretary In-Charge of Kachchh District. We effectively represented various pending issues to them. President & Chief Officer of Gandhidham Nagarpalika visited the Chamber and had interaction with Chamber’s Office Bearers and members to resolve pending issues. KASEZ celebrated its 54 th Foundation Day on 7 th March and awarded exporters under various categories. KASEZ’s progress and contribution are really appreciable. The Chairman of DPT called a meeting of the stakeholders and they were briefed about Transparency Policy adopted by the port. DPT is all set to achieve and emerge once again as India’s No. 1 Major Port. Trade-war is emerging in international arena due to USA’s recent policy changes and countered by China. This would adversely affect the current global economic recovery. Although India is not quite directly affected by it, but shall have to wait & watch. RBI’s sudden discontinuation of LOU & LOC for importers will hurt trade financing and raise the cost of credit for importers. Our Chamber has made appropriate representations for the reconsideration. Greetings from GCCI! For our Chamber, the month of March was quite hectic and full of

activities & meetings with Government Ministers and Officials. I would like to share with you some significant developments.

We successfully organised a Press Conference highlighting & focusing pending/unresolved issues related to Free Hold Land Scheme for the Gandhidham Complex. This was followed-up by the meetings with Revenue Minister, Gujarat of Government, Collector of Kachchh, Secretary In-Charge of Kachchh District. President & Chief Officer of Gandhidham Nagarpalika visited the Chamber and had interaction with Chamber’s Office Bearers and members to resolve pending issues.

KASEZ celebrated its 54th Foundation Day on 7th March and awarded exporters under various categories. KASEZ’s progress and contribution are really appreciable.

A Meeting with Gandhidham Nagarpalika was organised on 22.3.18 @ Chamber Bhavan to discuss various issues of Gandhidham Township. In this meeting, GCCI’s President, Vice-President, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Jt. Secretary, Treasurer, Nagarpalika’s President, Chief Officer & Executive Chairman of Nagarpalika and Members of GCCI’s Sub-Committee on Nagarpalika were present.

GCCI’s delegation headed by President Shri Babubhai Humbal, Vice President Shri Nandlal Goyal, Hon. Secretary Shri Murlidhar Jagani, Treasurer Shri Jayesh Rajde, Past President Shri Dinesh Gupta, Past Hon. Secretary Shri Mahesh Tirthani met the Chief Secretary of Water Supply & Secretary In-charge of Kachchh District on 22nd March, 2018 during his visit to Gandhidham. The delegation discussed various issues of Kachchh District like traffic jam problem at Surajbari-Samakhiyali-Mokha Toll Palza, Land of Gandhidham Complex to be taken-up on Gujarat’s Revenue Record, Exemption from payment of Stamp Duty Second Time, Relaxation in DPT’s construction policy due to current water scarcity.

Isro set to transfer tech on low-cost e-vehicle batteries to industry

Giving thrust to the Centre’s ambitious e-vehicle project with the objective of reducing air pollution and crude oil import, Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) is in the process of transferring the technology of the cheaper version of space batteries developed by it to the automobile industry for commercial use in e-vehicles.

Microsoft announces first renewable energy deal in India

Microsoft Corp. has announced the completion of its first renewable energy deal within the Karnataka state of India. The agreement will see Microsoft purchase 3 megawatts of solar-powered electricity from Atria Power to help power its new office building in Bangalore. Indian commuters travel 35 km/day, says survey

The survey — conducted among 650 respondents in 20 cities including metros as well as Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3 cities — found that most people travel simply from home to office and that the use of fleet cabs has reduced the usage of personal vehicles substantially, particularly in big cities. It’s legal now: Cars allowed to go up to 70 kmph in cities

In a first such move, the Centre has approved the maximum speed limit on urban roads at 70 km per hour (kmph) for cars, 60 kpmh for cargo carriers and 50 kmph for two-wheelers. Rules & Regulations of Quiz 1. Five multiple choice questions based on a particular theme will be asked every month. 2. Participants can participate by sending the correct answers to all five questions by email to [email protected] 3. Participants must have mention his/her name and contact details compulsorily. 4. Only one entry per participant is allowed. 5. A Participant Eligible to win prize for Maximum 2 Times. 6. Correct Entries received only by email shall be eligible for prize. 7. Three winners will be declared every month. 10. The winners will be decided on “Fastest Finger First” basis; which means that the first correct entry received after the

publication of bulletin will be given the 1st prize; the second correct entry received will be given the 2nd prize and the third correct entry received shall be given the 3rd prize. The “time-stamp” shown in email shall be considered as proof for determining which entry came first.

11. In case of any dispute, the decision taken by the Convener of Bulletin Sub-Committee shall be final. 12. The members of the Managing Committee & Bulletin Sub-Committee of GCCI or their relatives shall not be eligible to

participate in this quiz. 13. Correct answers along with the names of the three winners shall be declared in the next issue of GCCI Bulletin. 14.
