This village, perched on a rocky peak, offers you two beautiful castles, the old castle dating from the twelfth and fourteenth century, and the young castle of the fifteenth century. or St-Cirq Lapopie. On authentic wooden gabares, set off to see a towpath hewn out of the
base of a cliff, and of course the clifftop village of Saint-Cirq-

Major halt of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela (GR65), Conques is also a

- medieval goldsmith art (Saint-Foy Treasure)
- Romanesque architecture with the Abbey-church and its tympanum of the Last Judgment,
- and contemporary art (stained-glass windows by Pierre Soulages) that you will discover
from the church upper-gallery.
