GREEN WARRIORS (ECO CLUB)
Eco Clubs play an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future
generation. In our college we have an eco-club ‘known as ‘ANNITES THE GREEN
WARRIORS’, which plays an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst
the future generation and performs activities to save the environment, like planting trees,
organizing poster, competitions on various environmental issues.
GREEN WARRIORS is a voluntary group which promotes the participation of students in
learning about, and improving their environment a means by which students and youth can
organize themselves to learn more and this issue, and also take action to improve their
immediate environment.
Objectives of GREEN WARRIORS (Eco Club):-
To educate the students about their environment.
To create a clean and green consciousness among students through various
innovative methods.
To mobilize students towards scientific enquiry into environmental problem.
To involve them in efforts to preserve environment.
To motivate students how to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste
generation.
Procedure:
Organization Formation & Operation -
1. Announcements - Faculty coordinator should submit proposal to the Principal and IQAC
for Approval of club for the academic year.
2. Nominations: The nominations are taken from fellow class mates and seniors in mid July.
This is the best time to encourage students to sign up for your club. Clubs may sign up
members at any time while they are active.
Faculty Coordinator: The club moderator shall be involved in the scheduling (times,
locations, etc.) of club meetings, Club coordinators are to submit the tentative plan of event,
date, and budget to the faculty coordinator. Faculty Coordinator then presents the proposal to
the Principal and IQAC. Coordinators must also be present at all official club meetings,
events, activities, etc
Meetings: Club volunteers are required to meet at least one (1) time per month and are to the
as the requirements of conducting the activities/events.
Volunteer Coordinator/President:
a. Should create a form for Members to indicate interest in those committee(s) they
would like to serve on.
b. Should select volunteers for events/activities and make the names available to
Committee chairs.
c. Should maintain the Club’s inventories
d. Should be responsible for taking of attendance during the activities.
The activities include:
1. Motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation
of trees.
2. Promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
3. Motivate students to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation, source
separation of waste and disposing the waste to the nearest storage point.
4. Educate students to create awareness amongst public and sanitary workers, so as to stop
the burning of waste which causes respiratory diseases.
5. Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public
places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and provide breeding ground for
mosquitoes.
6. Organize tree plantation programmes, awareness programmes such as Quiz, essay, painting
competitions, rallies, etc. regarding various environmental issues and educate children about
re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste.
7. Organize Nature Trail in Wild Life Sanctuaries/Parks/Forest areas to know about the
Biodiversity
Green Warrior club can thus help to extend boundaries and scope of the formal educational
system encouraging creativity, and improving students for constructive action.

ECO CLUB: GREEN WARRIORS
“Conservation is a state of harmony between men and land.”

St Anne’s First Grade College for Women focuses on engendering a culture of conservation
into the minds of students. As an outcome of this thought process, the college instituted the
Eco-club known as ‘ANNITES: THE GREEN WARRIORS’.
The club plays an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the students
and performs activities to conserve and protect the environment, like planting trees,
organizing poster competitions, initiating waste management techniques on campus, creating
awareness on practices that have harmful effects on our environment. The Club promotes the
participation of students in activities that promote environmental protection and conservation
and thereby aiding to sustainable development.

Green Warrior club can thus help to extend boundaries and scope of the formal educational
system encouraging creativity, and improving students for constructive action in order to
protect the environment. It helps build attitudes to help individuals and social groups acquire
a set of values and feelings of concern for environment and the motivation for actively
participating in environmental improvement and protection. It also teaches skills to help
individuals and social groups to identify and solve environmental problems and offer
solutions to protect and conserve our nature and environment in the best way possible.

“Keep green and keep our planet clean”
St Anne’s First Grade College for Women inaugurated the Green Warriors Club at D12 on 5th
June 2017 .Eco clubs play an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the
future generation. The Principal and Vice Principal along with Green warrior Mrs Nabilah,
Mrs Archana and Mrs Vinaya along with other faculties from various departments and
students attended this programme. The day bloomed with the invocation followed by lighting
the candle by the dignitaries. There was a pledge taken by the Green warrior members to
protect our mother earth in all the possible ways for giving a much cleaner, greener and safer
environment . The main objective of introducing this club was to bring awareness among the
students to save environment and making them more responsible citizens. Finally, the
programme ended with the vote of thanks by the student President of Green Warriors Club.

The Green Warriors club of St Anne’s First Grade College for Women in
collaboration with BPAC organised a workshop on waste management
segregation on 24th June 2017under the guidance of Green warrior coordinators
Mrs Nabilah Mrs Archana and Mrs Vinaya. The seminar stressed on topics like
waste segregation, waste management and trash disposal. The BPAC Members
also answered the queries of the students in an effective manner.

ECO FRIENDLY FESTIVES REPORT-2017

The festival is gathering of people to celebrate in a more eco-friendly manner to protect the
environment from environmental hazards like pollution. Diwali is one of the largest festival
celebrated across the country by bursting crackers ,but the crackers buster in turn pollute the
environment and reduce the quality of life. Hence the Green warriors club of St Anne’s First
Grade College for Women organized an awareness program on celebrating the festivals in an
eco-friendly manner for a safer environment. The students were enhanced with an
understanding about the difference between eco-friendly festivals and environment hazardous
festivals.Members of the eco club were asked to make a model on the eco-friendlyGanesh to
be pollution free The importance of this programme aimed on saving our water resources
from harmful materials,to minimize water pollution,air pollution and noise pollution.
The green warrior’s members actively coordinated with Mrs. Nabila, Mrs Archanaand
Ms.Vinaya in making the event successful.

The Green Warriors club of St Anne’s First Grade College for Women in collaboration with
BPAC organised Swachhta waste management segregation on 2ndOctober 2017under the
guidance of Green warrior coordinators Mrs.Nabila, Mrs Archana and Ms.Vinaya.Waste
management are the activities and actions which were conducted to manage wastefrom its
inception to its final disposal . Waste segregation was conducted to provide an awareness on
dividing waste into dry and wet .The BPAC members gave an awareness program on waste
management and segregation to the students in the college campus .. It also acted as a session
for interacting with the outer world and understanding the various techniques of waste
segregation, waste management and trash removal. The outcome of the collaboration with
BPAC was to protect the environment for the health and safety of the population by the Green
Warriors club.

CLEANINESS AND AWARNESS DRIVE AT SRI KAATERAMMA DEVI
TEMPLE.- REPORT 2017
This temple was built in the year 2009. The people still follow the rituals and
olden methodology in spiritual way. Animals are scarified in this place even
today to offer their prayers to Goddesses Kaateramma. Cleanliness awareness
was made by the Green warrior’s volunteers and the coordinators in the temple
awareness and importance of keeping the surrounding the clean and avoiding
harmful products.

CLEANINESS AND AWARNESS DRIVE AT SRI KAATERAMMA DEVI TEMPLE.-
REPORT 2018
This temple was built in the year 2009. The people still follow the rituals and olden
methodology in spiritual way. Animals are scarified in this place even today to offer their
prayers to Goddesses Kaateramma. There is a tree called as NETHILI TREE were people
believe that this tree provides & fulfils their wishes such as Unmarried people getting
married, female infertility, etc. Cleanliness awareness was made by the Green warriors
volunteers and the coordinators in the temple.

Distribution of saplings
“Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale them to stay alive. Can we ever forget that? Let us
love trees with every breath we take until we perish.”
Distribution of saplings was an Awareness programmes on conserving nature and a series of
saplings distribution .Nearly 100 saplings were distributed at St Anne’s First Grade College
for Women to faculties and class representatives from each class by the members of Green
Warriors with the guidance of Green warrior coordinators MrsShymala ,Ms.Vinaya
,MsAnitha and Mrs Suman .The students also took a pledge to conserve the environment,
compensate tree that were felled and to preserve the existing trees and not to indulge in any
activities that would cause harm to nature. When you embellish classrooms with sampling
plants, you're not just adding greenery. These living organisms interact with your body, mind
of students in ways that enhance the quality of life.

“Less air pollution, healthy life solution”
St Anne’s First Grade College for Women encouraged students to avoid motorised transport
and switch to cycles for better health and cleaner environment on certain occasions .Green
warriors club conducted a survey on students “to and fro” to college and made awareness
programme on pollution free zone to minimize pollutants atleast during certain days in and
around college premises . Cycling culture continues to boom in the city for reducing pollution
and a much cleaner environment , as students and staff head to college on their cycles to
contribute to a better environment. All the interested staffs and students brought their bicycle
with enthusiasm. Air pollution, global climate change and traffic congestion are all reduced
by biking instead of driving was the outcome of this awareness program to the faculties and
students by the members of Green Warriors with the guidance of Green warrior coordinators
Mrs Shymala ,Ms.Vinaya ,MsAnitha and Mrs Suman.
(Green Warriors : Cycle To College initiative)
The volunteers of Green Warriors Club conducted a survey with the guidance of lecturers to
find out how the faculties and students commute to college each day, and also organized a
traffic awareness programme.
Traffic awareness programme on pollution free zone to minimize pollutants atleast during
certain days in and around college premises . All the interested staffs and students were
informed to come in bicycle.
''Pollution if you don’t kill it, It will kill you”.
The survey conducted by the Green Warriors club volunteers found that the majority of them
travel by public transports and a few of them commute by to college by walk, occasionally or
on certain days the club request the interested college staffs and students cycle to college.

The Green Warriors club of St Anne’s First Grade College for Women in collaboration with
BPAC organised Swachhta waste management segregation on 12th March 2018 with the
guidance of Green warrior coordinators Mrs. Shymala ,Ms.Vinaya ,Ms. Anitha and Mrs
Suman. Waste management are the activities and actions which were conducted to manage
waste from its inception to its final disposal . Waste segregation was conducted to provide an
awareness on dividing waste into dry and wet. The BPAC members gave an awareness
program on waste management and segregation to the students in the college campus .And
the members of Green warriors along with BPAC members went in and around Vasanthnagar
area to enhance the understanding and awareness on waste management and segregation to
the general public. It also acted as an interaction session of the students with the general
public. The outcome of the activity was to protect the environment for the health and safety
of the population by the Green Warriors club.

Chowdeshwari Devi Hi-Tech Nursery at on 22nd March 2018.In this place we had a view on
different types of vegetables nursery plants .There are different types of plants like Brinjal,
Broccoli, Chilli, Cauliflower, ice berg, Lets grown here. These are hybrid plants & foreign
made. They cultivate nursery plants and sell it to the farmers & the final consumers in the
Bangalore markets. This information was been interviewed by Mr. Manjunath & Naveen
Kumar who had come there to purchase the nursery plants like tomato plants, mint plants
from there.
