A Green Roof Built to Last Requires High-Performance Components. Studies have shown that a green roof can last up to twice as long as a conventional roof. But, the entire system is only as good as the individual components. Choosing high-performance products is crucial to a long service life.

Exceptional drainage is required for a long life span of a green roof. It is essential that the drainage cavity remains unclogged and does not crack or collapse under the load placed upon it. Foot and equipment traffic during installation should be considered when choosing a drainage product.

Root support systems are recommended in sloped roof designs and in wind-prone locations. If the plant roots are not reinforced they can become detached and blow or wash away.

Watairvent promotes unobstructed water and air flow to help keep the structural elements of the roof in peak condition.
