UNDERSTANDING
THE PAIN POINT
Current Homeless Support in Pittsburgh
• 10 shelters in city, 2 in McKeesport and 1 in
Tarentum, with capacity of 352 beds.
• 9 shelters are for single mom and children,
youth under 19 while 4 shelters are for men
with limited capability of daily lives.
• 643 people used the shelter during 2013.
• 105 went there when temperature dropped
to 9 degrees.
