18-20 March 2014, Maritim Hotel, Cologne, Germany
AMI invites you to take part in the next international conference on Green Polymer Chemistry, which takes place from 18th to 20th March 2014 at the Maritim Hotel in Cologne, Germany. There is a networking evening to start the conference on 18th March for all delegates and speakers followed by a packed 2-day programme.
Sustainable sourcing is a big driver for major brand owners worldwide and a vital development for polymer production in the long-term as fossil resources are limited and compete in the energy supply chain, which is also approaching crisis as demands for power rise worldwide. This has led to a wide range of research and innovation from the major petrochemical companies looking to get a foothold in the new industry, universities who are taking the lead in testing new chemical engineering projects, forestry and agricultural companies with existing chemical and fermentation systems looking to supply new markets, and start up companies moving forwards with a specific innovation.
Meanwhile the end users of plastics and elastomers are watching the market developments to find drop-in substitute materials that have genuine green credentials. These new materials must be available in sufficient quantities, for example an automotive application worldwide will require substantial amounts of polymer.
The usual rules of sustainable sourcing will apply to green polymers as for current agricultural practices. There are exciting innovations coming in the pipeline as researchers have found new sources to make many of the basic thermoplastics, thermosets and elastomers. These will be discussed at AMIs Green Polymer Chemistry 2014, which brings together industry, science and end users of materials to review the future.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION OFFERRegister before 7th February 2014 and pay 850* saving 140* on the full price of 990*. There are additional discounts for group bookings. The registration fee includes attendance at all conference sessions, the Welcome Cocktail Reception, lunch and refreshment breaks on both days and a set of conference proceedings.
