Nonprofit Partnership, incorporated December 2008
Formed in response to Green Jobs Act of 2007 (Title X, Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, Public Law 110-140)
Established to bring together a coalition of partners to provide Education and Training, Job Placement and Career Development, as required by law

WHO WE’LL TRAIN
Provide outreach education to high schools
Host green career workshops, seminars
Produce an educational public affairs program on energy and
environmental issues
Support a one-stop Green Careers Center
Assist with data collection and labor statistics, and conduct
research on green jobs
Publish a state Green Jobs Guidebook and Employer’s Manuel

Education, Training and Job Placement coalitions being formed for next series of grants
Submitted Energy Training and Pathways Out of Poverty grant applications totaling $13 million, and assisted Virginia in responding to $6 million solicitation from Dept. of Labor
Now working with Virginia Tech in responding to Smart Grid grant application due November 30th
Forming GJA chapters in other states in order to implement Green Jobs Act, when fully funded via Clean Energy bill
In need of sustaining monies to support daily operations and grant work until federal funds arrive
