Boundaries and climate
• Greece is situated in Eastern Europe, in the end of Balcanic Peninsula
• Its boundaries are:
– Albania on the N-W
– Macedonia on the N
– Bulgaria on the N
– Mediterranean Sea on the E, S and W
– Turkey on the W
• The climate is temperate Mediterranean with mild winters and hot dry summers

History
• 2000 B.C. -> Indo-European peoples, including the Mycenaeans, enter Greece.
• 1200 B.C. -> Dorians, another Indo-European people, invaded Greece.
• 750 B.C. -> classical Greece foundation, the form of government is the city-state
• 5th century B.C. -> peak of Greece civilization
• 2nd century B.C. -> Greece became a Roman province.
• 1460 A.C. -> Greece became a province in the Ottoman Empire
• 1821 – 1827 A.C. -> Greek war of independence
