Division, Srinagar A/S Indian people, armed forces our brothers: Geelani ‘They will never succeed to contain Kashmiris’ Srinagar, Aug 27: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani today said “the Indian people along with its armed forces were broth- ers of Kashmiris as per their faith but maintained that despite use of force, “they will never succeed in containing them and the ongoing struggle for right to self-determination will continue.” “In 2009 we started the campaign of demilitariza- tion and in 2010 we inten- sified this campaign by a common and famous slogan ‘Go India Go Back’. Masarat Aalam is still languishing in jail for actively partici- pating and galvanizing this campaign. Today also very politely and humbly we request these armed forces that they failed to win our hearts for the last 70 long years and they will never be able to do so in future as well,” Geelani accord- ing to party state- ment said before he was arrested while leaving for Badami Bagh Can- tonment to deliver a letter asking the army to vacate from Jammu and Kashmir. “Our basic right, the right to self-determination, has been promised by none other than the first Prime Minister of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru not only in Indian Parlia- ment in 1952, but in Kash- mir’s historical Lal Chowk in front of lakhs of people. He at that time said this is a commitment not only with Kashmiris but to the whole world that India will allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir to decide their future on their own as they (Indians) don’t believe in forced marriages,” a spokesman of the Hurriyat , in a statement today, quoting Geelani. “We want to convey this clear message to the armed forces that they will be tired of killing and maim- ing us, will exhaust all their ammunition to curb us but they will never ever succeed in containing us. This is ironical that they have made our whole population a test- ing lab for their arsenal and despite the clear writing on wall they continue to remain in a denial mode. Whatever the circumstances, our struggle will continue,” Gee- lani said. Strongly condemn- ing the arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Geelani said, “These cowardly and childish moves indicate the frustration and mental bankruptcy of the Indian as well as local administra- tion, but they cannot deter us by these foolish acts.” He also condemned arrest of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader and his personnel secretary Peer Saifullah while he was returning from a medical checkup in New Delhi. “Peer Saifullah, who is lodged in Humhama police station, is a brain tumour patient. He had developed a severe pain in his head and was advised by doctors to visit Delhi,” Geelani said, adding that “If there is any problem to the health of Saifullah Sahab and his con- dition deteriorates govern- ment will be itself respon- sible for the consequences.” Hurriyat (M) condemns Mirwaiz’s arrest ‘It shows govt’s frustration’ Kashmiris fighting for referendum: Nayeem Khan ‘Their aspirations cannot be trampled by brutal tactics’ Srinagar, Aug 27: Hurriyat Confer- ence (M) has strongly con- demned the arrest of its Chairman Mir- waiz Umar Farooq, who has been lodged at sub jail at Cheshmasha- hi, here. “The illegal house deten- tion for the past 49 days and the arbitrary detention of the Mirwaiz shows the gov- ernment’s frustration and failure in dealing with the people's revolt, the Hurriyat spokesman, in a statement today, said. “Illegally caging, con- fining and censoring the leadership is the standard response of the infamous regime as well as its prede- cessors to prevent them from leading the people and let- ting the truth of Kashmir be known. Such undemocratic and authoritarian measures will not deter the Mirwaiz and cadres of APHC from representing and advocat- ing the will and aspirations of people and their sacred struggle for which the whole nation is tremendously sac- rificing and facing collective torture,” he said. “Mirwaiz's commitment to the movement is a proud legacy he has inherited from his forefathers who made sacrifices and suffered hardships in the form of exiles, incar- cerations, torture and harassment at the hands of the powers that be but always led and supported the people’s movement for achievement of justice and their basic political right of self determination,” the spokesman said. Expressing deep sorrow and grief at the killing of Shakeel Ahmed Ganai of Raj- pora Pulwama by the forces yesterday, and the drown- ing of Shahnawaz Khan of Sangam Anantnag when the forces were chasing him and he jumped into water to save himself, the spokesman strongly denounced these “brutalities” . “The inhuman excesses committed by the forces at Hamgiwera Pattan, beating and injuring inmates of the houses, ransacking homes and destroying belongings is shameful and highly deplorable. People will never be brought into sub- mission by such atrocities,” the spokesman added. GK NEWS NETWORK Srinagar, Aug 27: Senior separatist leader and Chair- man of Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) Nayeem Ahmad Khan on Sat- urday said that Kashmiris are fighting for referendum and maintained that their aspirations cannot be tram- pled by what he said “brutal tactics” by New Delhi. “Time and again Indian myth that Kashmir is a law and order problem has been busted and it has been proven that it is an issue of peoples urge and movement for referendum,” Nayeem Khan said in a statement. He condemned the civil- ian killings by forces and paid glowing tributes to all martyrs of Kashmir. “It has been 50 continuous days of curfews and killings by police and forces. The latest killing of youths in Pulwama by forces is utterly shocking as every measure and mean is used to scuttle the voices of people,” he said. “Rather than adopting sane path of resolution, the Indian state is resorting to brutal tactics like more militarisa- tion, innocent kill- ings and arrests. I reaffirm that commitment of devoted nation like Kashmir cannot be trampled by these brutal tactics and only resorting to fulfill- ing international commit- ments and resolutions by Indian state can solve the Kashmir problem,” he said. Condemning the arrest of Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Nayeem Khan said that “it only exhibits the frustra- tion of the puppet regime driven by RSS directly from Nagpur.” He also condemned the ransacking of residential houses and beating of civil- ians allegedly by police and forces. “Such tactics vindi- cate the Hurriyat stand that New Delhi is not interested in the Kashmiri people. India only wants the land of Kashmir. However, the day is not far when India will have to leave the territory because forcible control is to end at any cost,” Khan. People, pro-freedom leadership must isolate black sheep: Aasiya Andrabi Welcomes Pakistan for highlighting Kashmir issue Srinagar, Aug 27: Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Syeda Aasiya Andrabi today appreciated the Government of Pakistan’s move to send its 22 parliamentarians as envoys to different countries to highlight the Kashmir issue and the ongoing “aggres- sion” by New Delhi on people of Jammu and Kashmir. “This is a welcome step taken by the Pakistan government. Pakistan has always highlighted the Kashmir issue and what people here have been facing under the forcible control of Kashmir. Once again it is Pakistan which is making all efforts to help the oppressed Kashmiris by taking our voices to the international community,” Aasiya Andrabi, said in a statement today. “It is also the moral obligation of Pakistan to help Kashmiris to take this movement to its logical conclusion. The people should not to be misled by the propaganda against the people and the resistance leadership unleashed by the government of India and its puppet government. GoI and its puppets are frustrated as they feel that they are losing the ground in Kash- mir with every passing day. They have begun to feel that their 70-year-old forcible control of Kashmir is under threat and that is why they are trying every possible trick to extend it,” Aasiya said. “That is the reason that they are trying to discredit the resistance leadership among the people and the people among the resistance leadership,” she said. She appealed people to remain stead- fast and not let this movement die down. “There is an utter need that people as well as the resistance leadership expose and isolate the black sheep present in their ranks. These black sheep will try to use every tactic to sabotage what we have achieved and will achieve by pursuing this pious movement. We have to be extra vigilant so that the evil designs of these evil persons can be failed at all levels,” she said, urging the resistance leadership to keep a close eye on the developments on the “decep- tive announcements” about talks by the Government of India. Jama’at anguished over use of force on civilians Ongoing agitation has frustrated govt: Mir, War Srinagar, Aug 27: Hurriyat Con- ference (M) senior leaders Javaid Ahmad Mir and Er Hilal Ahmad War have strongly condemned the arrest and sending amalgam chair- man Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to 10-day judicial custody at Cheshamshahi where, according to them, a hut has been designated as sub jail. “Government seems to have been frustrated by people’s agitation in the length and breadth of Kashmir for the last 50 days despite strict curfew and restrictions. The resis- tance leadership for the larger goal of Kashmiri people was placed behind the bars including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabir Ahmad Shah. This clearly indicates that the puppet government does not have the courage to fight the resis- tance leadership politically and as such banning their peaceful activi- ties, placing curbs on their move- ment and arresting them. In this way the government accepting their defeat,” Mir and War, who continue to be under house detention, said in a statement today. Srinagar, Aug 27: Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir today expressed anguish over, what it said, “the wild use of force against peaceful and unarmed protesters across Kashmir.” “The chain of terrible excess- es started by Indian forces aſter Burhan Wani’s killing against peaceful protestors in Kashmir is going on unabated. The sole purpose of these atrocities is curb the genuine voice of the people which they have been raising since 1947 for providing them their cher- ished right of self-determination as promised to them by government of India through UNO resolutions. To kill and injure innocent people have become a past time for these unruly forces,” the Jama’at spokes- man Advocate Zahid Ali said. Elaborating, he said “forces raid villages and towns with iron rods and sticks in hands and destroy whatever comes in their way, break window and door panes and smashed domes- tic tools and vehicles and beat inmates particularly youth ruth- lessly. In such a terrifying incident on 25th August at about noon, a huge contingent of Indian forces entered Prichu mohalla of Pulwa- ma well equipped with arms and sticks and aſter beating a number of innocent persons mercilessly, caused huge loss to the houses, house hold goods, kitchen ware, vehicles and other precious prop- erty and pelted stones upon the houses smashing glass panes,” he alleged. "In another incident, a mob of peaceful protestors was fired upon near village Haal Pulwama with bullets and pellets killing another innocent youth Shakeel Ahmad Ganaie of Chandpora Pul- wama on the spot and critically injuring many others. The forces respond slogans with bullets and stone with pellets. Moreover another youth Shahnawaz Khan who was compelled by forces to jump into the Jhelum when he was chased by them at Sangam Bijbehara while he was peacefully protesting against their atrocities upon hapless Kashmiris. This inhu- mane act clearly depicts genocide plan of New-Delhi,” Zahid alleged. STATE twitter.com/GreaterKashmir_ facebook.com/DailyGreaterKashmir epaper.GreaterKashmir.com CMYK

Indian people, armed forces our brothers: Geelani ‘They will never succeed to contain Kashmiris’ Srinagar, Aug 27: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani today said “the Indian people along with its armed forces were broth-ers of Kashmiris as per their faith but maintained that despite use of force, “they will never succeed in containing them and the ongoing struggle for right to self-determination will continue.”

“In 2009 we started the campaign of demilitariza-tion and in 2010 we inten-sified this campaign by a common and famous slogan ‘Go India Go Back’. Masarat Aalam is still languishing in jail for actively partici-pating and galvanizing this campaign. Today also very politely and humbly we request these armed forces that they failed to win our hearts for the last 70 long years and they will never

be able to do so in future as well,” Geelani accord-ing to party state-ment said before he was arrested while leaving for Badami Bagh Can-tonment to deliver a letter asking the army to vacate from Jammu and Kashmir.

“Our basic right, the right to self-determination, has been promised by none other than the first Prime Minister of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru not only in Indian Parlia-ment in 1952, but in Kash-mir’s historical Lal Chowk in front of lakhs of people. He at that time said this is a commitment not only with Kashmiris but to the whole world that India will allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir to decide their

future on their own as they (Indians) don’t

believe in forced marriages,” a spokesman of the Hurriyat , in a

statement today, quoting Geelani.“We want to convey

this clear message to the armed forces that they will be tired of killing and maim-ing us, will exhaust all their ammunition to curb us but they will never ever succeed in containing us. This is ironical that they have made our whole population a test-ing lab for their arsenal and despite the clear writing on wall they continue to remain in a denial mode. Whatever the circumstances, our struggle will continue,” Gee-lani said.

Strongly condemn-ing the arrest of Mirwaiz

Umar Farooq, Geelani said, “These cowardly and childish moves indicate the frustration and mental bankruptcy of the Indian as well as local administra-tion, but they cannot deter us by these foolish acts.” He also condemned arrest of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader and his personnel secretary Peer Saifullah while he was returning from a medical checkup in New Delhi.

“Peer Saifullah, who is lodged in Humhama police station, is a brain tumour patient. He had developed a severe pain in his head and was advised by doctors to visit Delhi,” Geelani said, adding that “If there is any problem to the health of Saifullah Sahab and his con-dition deteriorates govern-ment will be itself respon-sible for the consequences.”

Hurriyat (M) condemns Mirwaiz’s arrest ‘It shows govt’s frustration’

Kashmiris fighting for referendum: Nayeem Khan

‘Their aspirations cannot be trampled by brutal tactics’ Srinagar, Aug 27:

Hurriyat Confer-ence (M) has strongly con-d e m n e d t h e arrest of its Chairman Mir-waiz Umar Farooq, who has been lodged at sub jail at Cheshmasha-hi, here.

“The illegal house deten-tion for the past 49 days and the arbitrary detention of the Mirwaiz shows the gov-ernment’s frustration and failure in dealing with the people's revolt, the Hurriyat spokesman, in a statement today, said.

“Illegally caging, con-fining and censoring the leadership is the standard response of the infamous regime as well as its prede-cessors to prevent them from leading the people and let-ting the truth of Kashmir be known. Such undemocratic and authoritarian measures will not deter the Mirwaiz and cadres of APHC from representing and advocat-ing the will and aspirations of people and their sacred struggle for which the whole nation is tremendously sac-rificing and facing collective torture,” he said.

“Mirwaiz's commitment

to the movement is a proud legacy he has

inherited from his forefathers who made sacrifices and suffered

hardships in the form of exiles, incar-

cerations, torture and harassment at the hands of the powers that be but always led and supported the people’s movement for achievement of justice and their basic political right of self determination,” the spokesman said.

Expressing deep sorrow and grief at the killing of Shakeel Ahmed Ganai of Raj-pora Pulwama by the forces yesterday, and the drown-ing of Shahnawaz Khan of Sangam Anantnag when the forces were chasing him and he jumped into water to save himself, the spokesman strongly denounced these “brutalities” .

“The inhuman excesses committed by the forces at Hamgiwera Pattan, beating and injuring inmates of the houses, ransacking homes and destroying belongings is shameful and highly deplorable. People will never be brought into sub-mission by such atrocities,” the spokesman added.

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Aug 27: Senior separatist leader and Chair-man of Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) Nayeem Ahmad Khan on Sat-urday said that Kashmiris are fighting for referendum and maintained that their aspirations cannot be tram-pled by what he said “brutal tactics” by New Delhi.

“Time and again Indian myth that Kashmir is a law and order problem has been busted and it has been proven that it is an issue of peoples urge and movement for referendum,” Nayeem Khan said in a statement.

He condemned the civil-ian killings by forces and paid glowing tributes to all martyrs of Kashmir. “It has been 50 continuous days of curfews and killings by police and forces. The latest killing of youths in Pulwama by forces is utterly shocking as every measure and mean is used to scuttle the voices of people,” he said.

“Rather than adopting sane path of resolution, the

more militarisa-tion, innocent kill-ings and arrests. I reaffirm that commitment of devoted nation

l ike Kashmir cannot be trampled

by these brutal tactics and only resorting to fulfill-ing international commit-ments and resolutions by Indian state can solve the Kashmir problem,” he said.

Condemning the arrest of Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Nayeem Khan said that “it only exhibits the frustra-tion of the puppet regime driven by RSS directly from Nagpur.”

He also condemned the ransacking of residential houses and beating of civil-ians allegedly by police and forces. “Such tactics vindi-cate the Hurriyat stand that New Delhi is not interested in the Kashmiri people. India only wants the land of Kashmir. However, the day is not far when India will have to leave the territory because forcible control is to end at any cost,” Khan.

frustrated as they feel that they are losing the ground in Kash-mir with every passing day. They have begun to feel that their 70-year-old forcible control

of Kashmir is under threat and that is why they are trying every

possible trick to extend it,” Aasiya said. “That is the reason that they are trying

to discredit the resistance leadership among the people and the people among the resistance leadership,” she said.

She appealed people to remain stead-fast and not let this movement die down. “There is an utter need that people as well as the resistance leadership expose and isolate the black sheep present in their ranks. These black sheep will try to use every tactic to sabotage what we have achieved and will achieve by pursuing this pious movement. We have to be extra vigilant so that the evil designs of these evil persons can be failed at all levels,” she said, urging the resistance leadership to keep a close eye on the developments on the “decep-tive announcements” about talks by the Government of India.

Jama’at anguished over use of force on civilians

Ongoing agitation has frustrated govt: Mir, WarSrinagar, Aug 27: Hurriyat Con-ference (M) senior leaders Javaid Ahmad Mir and Er Hilal Ahmad War have strongly condemned the arrest and sending amalgam chair-man Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to 10-day judicial custody at Cheshamshahi where, according to them, a hut has been designated as sub jail.

“Government seems to have been frustrated by people’s agitation in the length and breadth of Kashmir for the last 50 days despite strict curfew and restrictions. The resis-tance leadership for the larger goal of Kashmiri people was placed behind the bars including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabir Ahmad Shah. This clearly indicates that the puppet government does not have the courage to fight the resis-tance leadership politically and as such banning their peaceful activi-ties, placing curbs on their move-ment and arresting them. In this way the government accepting their defeat,” Mir and War, who continue to be under house detention, said in a statement today.

Srinagar, Aug 27: Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir today expressed anguish over, what it said, “the wild use of force against peaceful and unarmed protesters across Kashmir.”

“The chain of terrible excess-es started by Indian forces after Burhan Wani’s killing against peaceful protestors in Kashmir is going on unabated. The sole purpose of these atrocities is curb the genuine voice of the people which they have been raising since 1947 for providing them their cher-ished right of self-determination as promised to them by government of India through UNO resolutions. To kill and injure innocent people have become a past time for these unruly forces,” the Jama’at spokes-man Advocate Zahid Ali said.

Elaborating, he said “forces raid villages and towns with iron

rods and sticks in hands and destroy whatever comes in their way, break window and door panes and smashed domes-tic tools and vehicles and beat inmates particularly youth ruth-lessly. In such a terrifying incident on 25th August at about noon, a huge contingent of Indian forces entered Prichu mohalla of Pulwa-ma well equipped with arms and sticks and after beating a number of innocent persons mercilessly, caused huge loss to the houses, house hold goods, kitchen ware, vehicles and other precious prop-erty and pelted stones upon the houses smashing glass panes,” he alleged.

"In another incident, a mob of peaceful protestors was fired upon near village Haal Pulwama with bullets and pellets killing another innocent youth Shakeel

Ahmad Ganaie of Chandpora Pul-wama on the spot and critically injuring many others. The forces respond slogans with bullets and stone with pellets. Moreover another youth Shahnawaz Khan who was compelled by forces to

jump into the Jhelum when he was chased by them at Sangam Bijbehara while he was peacefully protesting against their atrocities upon hapless Kashmiris. This inhu-mane act clearly depicts genocide plan of New-Delhi,” Zahid alleged.
