Loving greetings to you in our one precious and living Hope in our Risen Lord and coming King–the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many thanks to you for all your Christian love, support, and guidance through all the helpful Christian literature that

you graciously make available to me and many oth-ers who get them from me. May the Lord continue to bless you abundantly in all your ways.

Grace and peace to you from the Lord, Your son in the Lord, Femi (from Nigeria)P.S. I will always crave and cherish your continued

prayers and fraternal guidance in the ways of God–as living by God’s unpopular truths is becoming very difficult and our worldly society is becoming hostile to those wanting to please God. Please kindly re-member in prayer; I am a young man, not-yet-mar-ried, and a Christian believer searching for paying medical employment. The rising unemployment in the country makes things a bit hard these days.

ENCOURAGING FEMIsurface where they can be removed. Whether in

marriage, ministry, or business, 50 years is a testimony to the commitment of the people involved and the in-tensity of the refining process.

At Heralds of Hope, we are celebrating 50 years of God’s great faithfulness! Yes, there have been good times, and not so good times. But through it all, God has sustained and matured what He brought to birth through the vision of Dr. and Mrs. J. Otis Yoder.

Throughout this year, we are planning a series of special events to mark this milestone. We hope there will be one close enough to you, so you can attend. The first ones are listed in this newsletter and more will be announced as they are planned.

HAUSA LISTENER LETTER

“I am one of your listeners, and when listening to your preaching, I always feel happy, and I have been encouraged by your teachings. Please pray for me to be used by God.”

THEPRESIDENT’S VIEW

THE WRITTEN WORD

one of the first actions was to form a Board of Directors. One of the first items of business for that Board was the formulation of a Statement of Faith, outlining the core beliefs of the organization. This foundational statement has, by God’s grace and blessing, en-abled Heralds of Hope to reach its 50th year of ministry.

In previous issue of the Hope Horizons, we highlighted Article 1 from the Statement of Faith. In this issue we highlight Article 2.

Article 2: We believe that the Bible is the Self-revelation of God to mankind for this age; that it is fully inspired by the Holy Spirit; that it is inerrant in its original records, authoritative in its decrees, universal and timeless in its message, and the standard by which all shall be judged.

This Article 2 is based on the following Scripture portions (NKJV):

Hebrews 1:1 and 2. “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds…”

II Timothy 3:16 and 17. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

II Peter 1:19-21. “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpreta-tion, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”

As I think about celebrating 50 years of Heralds of Hope ministry, I am so thankful for and rejoice in God’s faithfulness. We give Him all the glory for what He has done!

He has miraculously opened up many doors of opportunities to share the truth and power of God’s Word to millions of people around the world. The radio and internet reach many areas where mission-aries can’t go. Also, many secret believers testify like the following 22-year-old female listener in Tur-key:

“I grew up in a Muslim home but have been listening secretly to your broadcasts for 4 months. When I heard you teaching about a God who loves and forgives, it was the first time I felt worth something as a woman to God. I have since given my heart to Jesus Christ, but I can’t tell any-one about it or my life would be in danger.”

Others plead with us to please keep the broadcasts airing as it’s the only Bible teaching and Chris-tian fellowship they have.

By God’s grace and your faithful prayers and support we will contin-ue to share the Good News on the air until Jesus comes in the air!

Rejoicing in God’s faithfulness! Bob Kauffman

DONORS SHARE THEIR STORIES

We praise God HOH has found a way to use mod-ern technology to share God’s Word with people around the world and further nurture the recipients, even in difficult-to-reach places.”

Merle & Jane Eby - Maryland

“In the summer of 1952, I went to the Chicago Home Mission to teach Bible School as a member of a Sum-mer Service Unit. It was there that I met Pastor J. Otis Yoder and his wife; he was pastor of the church. A num-ber of years later, Pastor Yoder and his wife were at a church in Goshen to give a program. I attended and signed up to receive information of Heralds of Hope.

I believe HOH is spreading God’s word and am thankful that I can help in giving to Heralds of Hope. God bless you.”

Mrs. Ruth Yoder - Indiana

Send your testimonial by e-mail today to [email protected] or by mail to Heralds of Hope, PO Box 3 Breezewood, PA 15533.

We asked, “What’s your story? Why do you partner with Heralds of Hope?”

Thank you for your encouraging replies!

“I started singing in the Hope Chorale in 1963 and continued till 1974. Edith joined after we were married in 1971. We enjoyed serving the Lord together with the chorale and ministry and are still very blessed by the radio program. Thank you for allowing us to bless and be blessed so abundantly. To God be the glory.”

Earl and Edith Groff - Pennsylvania

“Getting to know J. Otis and Isabelle personally at the annual dinners at Greenwood, Delaware, initially drew us to participate with Heralds of Hope. Learn-ing to know J. Mark and Joyce and Bob and Donna continued that personal connection and has fostered a sense of trust in the ministry. Having a hands-on experience with our youth group at the HOH office a number of years ago strengthened our feeling of con-nection.
