2. . Task two: take one or two music magazines and apply the use and gratifications theory to the consumption of these magazines
Allot of young teenagers, want to know about their favourite rock star and the lifestyle these artist live. To pass their time they would want to find out about ways that will keep them amused and engaged into a particular subject, and these stories of rock stars keep them occupied.
Surveillance:
Using the media can notify a target group with new information such as new album releases, new artists and different events taking place, with the date, venue and costs. It can also update consumers with the latest fashion labels and the latest gadgets.
Diversion: Ker rang! Includes crazy lifestyle stories about rock stars which diverse teenagers from the dull lifestyle into a new wacky world.
Personal Relationships: knowing more about rock can help teenagers to socialise with people who are interested in the same genre, helping teenagers to socialise and make more friends.
Personal Identity: Magazine can also have an effect on how consumers think, it can benefit them and help them realise what kind of person they are, and what aspects interest them the most.
