Pinkerton Academy Wordmark

The new Pinkerton Academy wordmark was developed starting from the existing logo. The original tower art has been updated to reflect the growth of the Academy. The new typefaces were chosen to give it a more contempo-rary look while still remaining academic in nature. We can include name of designer only if you wish.

Styles And VariationsWherever possible, the logo should be reproduced in the two color version, with black and red text and graphic.

If needed the following combinations can be used.

One Color - Pantone 201

ReversedWhen the logo needs to be placed on a dark background it should be reversed to white.


Incorrect Wordmark UsageTo maintain the quality and integrity of the logo do not alter or distort the logo. Do not change the size or position of the tower graphic or replace it with a different tower graphic. Do not change the color or font of the logo. Do not place the logo on a background that causes the logo to be unreadable. Do not add any filters or dropshadow to logo.

Wordmark TypefaceThe wordmark typeface uses two typefaces. Neither should be replaced with another font. The word “Pinkerton” is set in small caps.

Wordmark SizingThe smallest size the wordmark should be printed , to still be readable is 1.5” wide (for stacked version) and 2” wide (for horizontal version). On the web, it shoud not be smaller that 180 pixels wide.

Clear SpaceFor ultimate visibility and impact, it’s important to retain a designated minimum ‘clear space’ around the logo. This area is designated as .35” around outer edge of wordmark.

Like many schools, Pinkerton Academy has an unusual relationship with time. Our institution is built upon its history and the accumulated wisdom of the past, yet we train students in the present for futures that hold uncounted and sometimes unimaginable changes.

So our Christmas Festival and spirit-building Pie Race continue over generations even as we add Friday Night Lights games and courses in DNA science. Variations of the athletics logos have been created to fulfill almost any situation’s needs. Contact the Communica-tions Coordinator or the Athletic Department for assistance in determining which logo is most appropriate to use. Do not attempt to recreate any of these logos; art may be obtained from the Communications Coordinator or the Athletic Department.

Athletics and Student Life Logos

Logo 1: Astro ManDeveloped as an ode to past logo designs, the Astro Man logo combines the traditional Astros wordmark with a new take on the classic astronaut. This logo is intended to be the default athletics and student life logo, though it is notrequired on specific team uniforms or where space is an

issue.

Astros WordmarkTo be used in situations where vertical space is limited or where clarity or size is an issue.The ASTRO wordmark can be reproduced at very small sizes.


Pinkerton Hall

The Pinkerton Building was built in 1887 to replace the original school building. It is named after the Pinkerton family, the original founders of the school, and consists of two stories and a basement.[3] The building now holds Foreign Language classes and administrative offices.
