    OVERVIEWThis purpose of this position is to communicate the mission of New York City

    Relief and Gods heart for the poor to the general public, volunteers, donors, andchurches through print and digital media. Position requires raising personalfinancial support as an urban missionary and working as part of a team tosupport development activities and events.

    Skills:- Graphic Design- Desktop Publishing- Adobe Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Dreamweaver- Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint- Basic HTML- Able to work cooperatively across departments (i.e. Development, Events)- Organizational Skills- Project Management- Marketing for Social Media, etc

    Responsibilities may include the following. Some tasks or projects may beoutsourced by staff member due to skill level, time constraints or volunteeravailability:

    - Printed MaterialsManage all phases of printed material production including:brochures, development promotional materials, newsletters, specialmailings, outreach fliers, newspaper and blog articles, t-shirts, logowear, fundraising event materials, letterhead, business cards,building signs, team training materials, etc. Write and/or edit articlesand interview volunteers and success stories.

    - PRLiaison to any news media contact or inquiries

    CommunityCommunity is at the heart of our staff who consider each other as family. We allparticipate each Tuesday morning for a time of worship, prayer, discipleship,training and business meetings. They are key times of community building,deepening of relationships and accountability that create a culture ofinterdependence and encouragement.

    Most team members raise their own support to work at New York City Relief asurban missionaries. This position, however, is paid ($30,000/year). Candidate willneed to be sensitive to the urban missionary environment.

    Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO medical insurance, including dental, is provided for

    all staff members.

    There is the potential for housing in staff homes.

    ScheduleWork schedule for this position is Monday-Friday. Your schedule would be 9am-5pm, except for days served on The Relief Bus doing outreach, or during specialevents.

    Parameters for Relief Bus Staff Consideration

    Concerning the following parameters, the applicant must have a proven trackrecord in these areas and be able to show verifiable references. This does notmean that the applicant would have to have a perfect level of achievement, butthey should have attained a considerable amount of success in the areas listedbelow.

    1. Godly lifestyle- Is the person living a lifestyle of purity and integrity inaccordance to the Bible?

    2. Responsibility- Is the person able to follow through?

    3. Teamwork- Is the person able to work in harmony as part of a team? Arethey able to resolve conflict?

    4. Past experience- Has the person done this kind of work before?

    5. Leadership capacity- Can the person train, mentor, coordinate, superviseor oversee others?

    6. Key needed skills- Does the person have unique skills that are vital to ourorganization?

    7. Problem solving skills- Can the person navigate and overcome challengesor obstacles?

    8. Sobriety- Does the person have victory in areas of life controllingaddictions?

    9. House in order- Is there stability in the management of the family life,marriage and children? Are finances, budgeting and money management

    10. Formal education- Is there an ample amount of formal training to performbasic tasks and skills?

    11. Support raising agreement- Is the person willing to be trained infundraising and finally, able to raise enough personal support before andduring time of service to sustain his/her personal/family budget?

    12. Health- Is the persons physical, mental and emotional health strongenough to work consistently?

    13. Spiritual maturity- Is the person actively engaged in a lifestyle of worship,service and intimacy with God?

    14. Ability to produce- Is the person able to contribute significantly overall tothe organization?

    15. Humility- Is the person teachable and able to take direction? Will they trustthe decisions made by leadership?

    16. Self-starter- Is the person proactive in finding what needs to be done anddoing it without being instructed?

    17. Calling- Does the person feel a specific call to this organization and doesNYCR leadership confirm this call? Are they willing to enter into aprobationary time of service as part of the process?
