The Process:Our class brainstormed both categorical and

numerical survey questions. We poled our classmates and graphed the results in

teams of two students. We submitted 3-5 “good” questions to our

classmates.Through class discussions we evaluated the

questions on whether or not the data could be graphed clearly or not.

Then we voted. The following questions were our top three

questions that were placed on an on Zoomerang website for any and all to take.

Page 3: Graphed Grant Results

We wanted to know:What is your favorite day of the week?

What is your favorite season of the year?

How many siblings do you have?

Page 4: Graphed Grant Results

We had a total of 134 responses from students all over the world.

How Cool is that?

Averages of Number of Siblings

in your Family Numerical Data has averages of mean, median, and

mode. (Numerical Data is information collected in number form.)

Mode for most common number of siblings is1sibling. So, this tells us that most students were from families with 2 children. (40%)

Median (middle of the data) 2 siblings: This would mean that each family would have a total of 3 children. This Average is not the most common but the middle of the data. (29% of the students had this as their choice.)

Mean Results:

The totals were 270 siblings and 130 respondents.

Added 3 + 52 + 38 + 22 + 9 + 2 + 1 +1 + 1 + 1 to get the total number of respondents as 130 respondents.

To get the total number of siblings add 52 + 76 + 66 + 36 + 10 + 6 + 7+ 8 + 9 to get a total of 270siblings.

270/130 = a mean of 2.0769 per respondent.

Thank you Lisa Condran for your assistance in this Mean Data.
