Snowboarding and tubing at Nitehawk Recreation area is a great way to take advantage of the beautiful winter months.
For those who prefer good old-fashioned exercise, go cross country skiing at the Wapiti Nordic Ski trails. They have longest lit night trail in Alberta!
Every week I look forward to going to the Farmers Market on Friday or Saturday to pick up my fresh artisan bread from Loaves: multigrain, spelt, flax and plum, chocolate, and so much more.
For delicious produce, Red Willow Gardens at the Farmers Market sells fresh local vegetables almost all year round.
My absolute must for authentic Thai food is Hong Fah! When I want to grab a quick bite, El Norteno Tacos at the Farmers Market is fresh and delicious! Dont overlook their soup; its one of my favourites!
I can never get enough of Soto Teppanyaki. It is a show in itself to watch the chef prepare a delicious meal right in front of you on the grill.
When the heat wave hits, I like to cool off by floating down the river at OBrien Provincial Park. It can get pretty busy though, so I would suggest heading over early.
The spray park at the Lions Park is where I like to gonot so relaxing, but the kids have so much fun there!
Wandering around the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, or catch a live show at Grande Prairie Live Theatre.
There is always something going on in this vibrant city! Check out the events at cityofgp.com. My favourites are the Street Performers Festival in July and the Maple Sugar Festival in February.
The Eastlink Centre is an incredible facility. It offers everything from water aerobics to kick boxing. If you really want a challenge, check out the 6 am yoga classyou will often find us there!
Grande Prairie has an amazing network of paved walking paths throughout the city. When the days are long, I love to take an evening walk and just enjoy the fresh air.
