Newly Renovated Courts:

Originally installed in 2011, the bocce courts were in need of repair!


Newly Renovated Courts:

1. New crushed coquina surfaces

2. Wood timbers repaired and stained

3. Lights replaced

4. New score signs and bocce balls

5. New sun mesh above pergola

6. Expanded the picnic / seating area


Properly maintaining the courts:

1. Crushed Coquina is softer and more forgiving

2. Can leave “divot” on high arched tosses

3. Fix your marks by raking after each game

4. Club will water and roll courts periodically

Team Rosters and Registration:

1. All players must be active members of Grand Harbor Golf and Beach Club for the 2021/2022 membership year. “Guests” are not permitted to play.

2. Team rosters must have a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players.

3. The team line-up for both regular season and playoff games must include only players from the team’s official roster. Outside player substitutions are not permitted.

4. During a match, a team can replace a player with another team member after each game.

Regular Season Play – Scheduling:

1. Matches are scheduled for 2:00pm or 4:00pm on your weekly divisional day.

2. All matches must be played on the scheduled day and time.

3. If your game is rained out, you need to make-up the game before your next scheduled game. If there are any problems, contact Tony Albano.

4. Your team’s schedule can be accessed thru the TeamLinkt app or on the bocce.grandharbor.com website.


Regular Season Play – Matchplay:

1. Each regular season match consists of 2 games.

2. The first team to 10 pts. in a game, will earn 1 point.

3. A team must have at least 3 players in order to begin a match.

4. For the 1st game, the “Home” team will go first by throwing the pallino as well as selecting the bocce ball color.

5. Matches must begin promptly at the scheduled time.

6. If a team does not show or have enough players to start a match by 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, they will forfeit the match.


Regular Season Play – Reporting Scores:

1. All scores will be posted to the bocce.grandharbor.com website.

2. Scores must be reported within 24 hours from the completion of the match.

3. The team that wins the 2nd game is responsible for reporting the scores from both games.

4. The opposing team will receive a confirmation on the posted scores.

5. Any disputes should immediately (within 24 hrs. from scores being posted) be brought to Tony Albano’s attention.


Regular Season Play – Team Standings:

1. Team standings can be found on the bocce.grandharbor.com website.

2. Select “2021 Fall Bocce League” and then select your “Division.”

3. Standings will be based on the scores and results posted.

4. Any discrepancies should immediately be brought to Tony Albano’s attention.


How to see your schedule, team standings etc… in addition to reporting the scores?

Playoffs and Championship – Qualifying:

1. 12 team single elimination format

2. Top 3 teams from each division + 3 wild card teams qualify

a. Top 3 teams per division – based on total points after regular season play. Tie-breaker based on “point differential.”

b. Wild card teams (3) – After determining the top three teams per div., the next 3 teams from all divisions with the highest points will qualify. Tie-breaker based on “point differential.”

Note: Point Differential = Total points “for” minus points “against”


Playoffs and Championship – Format:

1. Single elimination match play

2. Each Match consists of “best of three” game format

3. Each playoff game is played to 10 points

4. Top ranked team from each division will get a first round bye along with the best 2nd ranked team


Bocce Championship – Monday, November 15th:

1. Semi-Finals – Single elimination game to 15 pointsa. #1 ranked vs #4 ranked

b. #2 ranked vs #3 ranked

2. Finals – Winning teams play for championshipa. #1 ranked vs #2 ranked

b. Single elimination game to 15 points

3. Consolation – Losing teams play for 3rd and 4th place a. #1 ranked vs #2 ranked

b. Single elimination game to 15 points


Bocce Championship – Payouts:

Total purse is based on $10pp. Will use leftover funds from last year’s cancelled season. Payouts will be issued as a credit to the member’s account.

2021 Fall Bocce League - 175 players x $10 = $1,750 total purse

1. Champions: $875 per team (50% of total)

2. Runner-up: $438 per team (25% of total)

3. 3rd place: $262 per team (15% of total)

4. 4th place: $175 per team (10% of total)


Important Dates:

▪ Regular season – September 27th to November 5th

▪ Learn to Play – Tuesday, September 28th at 4:00pm

▪ Playoffs – week of November 8th

▪ Semi-Finals and Finals – Monday, November 15th

▪ Bocce Banquet – Tuesday, November 16th
