OUR CULTURE CODE

CUSTOMER FOCUS1

We obsess about our customers as they are the reason Grammarly exists.

We need to provide our customers with the best product in the market, otherwise we’re doing them a disservice. That requires putting them at the center of our decisions.

Ask what is best for our overall customer base when making decisions.

EFFECTIVE CREATIVITY2

We believe that creativity can solve ANY problem. We also believe that creativity needs to be effective – not just new ideas, but ideas that work.

Ask how many ways something can be done, not if it can be done. Among your ideas, look for practical solutions.

When you face a challenge, focus on a solution. Don’t be afraid to fail as you are trying different ideas to get to a solution.

There are solutions: Even to the hardest problems

DATA-DRIVEN3

We are laser-focused on metrics, starting with each team member.

We use metrics to set clear goals, facilitate informed decisions and make our progress visible to ourselves, each other, and the world.

Look for metrics to measure performance against your goals, then adjust based on what you learn to move more quickly.

RESULTS4

We do whatever it takes to deliver results.

We know that putting a dent in the Universe is hard. It requires repeatedly setting and achieving big goals, as quickly as humanly possible.

Set big goals and strive for results. Accelerate and repeat.

TRANSPARENCY5

We say what’s on our mind and give each other candid feedback.

We need to be open to be a great team.

No one knows your perspective better than you, so always speak up and share your ideas. Give and value constructive feedback.

MASTERY6

Each of us aspires to be the leader in what we do, by striving for individual mastery.

We need mastery for efficient actions. A team cannot be a leader unless it’s made up of masters.

Continually work to be a master in your field. When you master a skill, start work on a new one!

TRUST7

We trust each other to be exceptional in every way.

High-performing teams are fast. Fast needs absolute cohesion. Cohesion is built on trust.

Earn and return everyone’s trust. Use good judgement, and ask for help when necessary.
