Under NIRD sponsored Project Enterprises Creation, Shri O.N. Bansal from NIRD, Hyderabad visited Kisanganj project area alongwith Director RUDSETI Baran Shri R.K.Meena & his faculty member, and GVT Officers Dr Rajesh Sharma, Shri Shimbhu Singh, Shri O.P.Bairva and interacted with 20 trained rural entrepreneurs, belonging to Relavan Village on dated 01-05-2014 and all female entrepreneurs presently engaged in cutting and tailoring profession, after receiving 21-days long basic skill training and handholding support in enterprises creation. The training was conducted in the month of December 2013 and after that, many of them could manage own sewing machine for household work as well as stitching work for neighbours and relatives on demand basis, after handholding support given by GVT as PIA. During visit, all trained entrepreneurs informed NIRD officer that after getting basic skills on stitching work, now they become more able to stitch any garments like blouse, petticoat, Kurta-salvar, baby shirt, File folder, hand bag, travel bag etc with multi designed prototypes suggested by Master trainer of GVT and presently, all trained stitching workers found able to manage profit of Rs 800-1200 per month in addition to their day to day household work at initial stage and income increase is expected with sizeable expansion in coming months. During interaction, it was found that after getting training, their confidence level found increased in term of setting up small household entrepreneurial activities on stitching work at village level or at local nearby market and requested to NIRD to provide some capital cost for procurement of advanced & modern stitching machine and marketing facilitation to ensure bulk order for those items which have limited selling in local market. They were also found intended to participate in local trade fairs to increase the selling of garments,prepared by them. Shri Bansal from NIRD encouraged and motivated the all trainees to continue this profession

alongwith holding the key responsibility of household work and contact to nearby service area

bank for managing capital cost to start this profession in more organized and business mode. In

future also, NIRD may think for advanced design development and dissemination programme for

more product diversification and quality upgradation. He advised GVT officers, to extend 50 %

grant support on sewing machine procurement, to each trainee to keep them engaged after

training. All 20 trained workers has been associated with Self help groups and formed Sakhi saheli

Swaya Sahayata Samooh with saving bank linkage and around common fund of Rs 3900/- has

been generated by them through saving in last 2-3 months.

During meeting, trained women entrepreneurs presented File folder as Memento to Shri Bansal

and RUDSETI Director, for providing valuable guidance and motivation towards vocational

education. Around 40 multi designed marketable prototypes on ladies & children’s garments

which were developed during training were displayed by entrepreneurs during visit.

The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Training organizer Shri Bairva.

After meeting, visiting team members went to Misai village of same block, to see other GVT

project interventions mainly Mobile van Skill training programme on Mechanical trade (funded

by UNDP-RSLDC,Govt of Rajasthan), Integrated Horticulture development project (funded by

NABARD under TDF) and pilot project on Wheat Crop Residue Management programme( funded

by NABARD under FTTF). Shri Bansal interacted with wadi farmers about project support received

and expected income and also seen the mechanical trade equipped mobile van and newly

introduced improved farm machinery ( Power operated conveyer belt reaper with bundling

arrangement , Mould bold plough, wheat straw chopper for husk making) for wheat crop residue

management) with on farm demonstration. Shri Bansal appreciated GVT interventions and

advised to replicate the model in other parts of India, considering a new innovation/approach.
