Keep the circus going inside you, keep it going, don’t take anything too seriously; it will all work out in the end.

David Niven

Every day we go through multiple emotions. How we feel plays a major role in the kind of dresses we choose and in the way we dress. As a designer, I try to blend emotions and style.

The collection. Hundreds of people everyday involved with the circus leave behind their sorrows in their personal life and dress up in clothes filled with bright colors ready to bring smile on others face which denote happiness and positivity. The collection is inspired from an imaginative journey of a little girl through the circus and how, a simple expectation symbolized through a blend of two basic color ,is surpassed and the complexity is shown through a fusion of multiple colors.

The inspiration for my Major Studio Project was Wonder woman. Her outfit symbolizes women's liberation and independence. It is intended to show how women use clothes to define how they want to be seen. Therefore, bold cuts , bodysuits, long flow drapes with thigh high slits , mimics and imitates Wonder Woman's look and matches her personality and what her outfit represents in a very modern way.

“Remembrance of things past is not necessarily the remembrance of things as they were. It is strange how we hold on to the pieces of the past while we wait for our futures.”It is rightly said that Gujarat has given India the greatest heritage in embroidery work and craft through its famous and versatile Kutch embroidery Today, I bring to you a collection closely associated to the grassroots of my culture and in the hope of innovating the future by the elegance and finesse of the Kutch Embroidery. Thanks

In order to be IRREPLACEABLE, one must always be DIFFERENT. Coco Chanel

to my Grandma and my Maa who made me aware of this beautiful culture which is sadly dying now. This work is so time consuming and intricate that hardly any people are left doing this embroidery anymore, so I realized that I need to do something for this beautiful art which my community has given to this world.

My collection is an approach to uplift the Kutchi Work and spread awareness of this art and culture. Doing this collection, I got so connected to the culture and fell in love with my culture and realized how amazing my own roots are. Hopefully I will be doing a lot more of this in my future and seeing this art back in fashion.

I have believed for a long time now that fashion is not merely there to embellish women, I believe it is also a means to measure them, to give them confidence, to enable them to assert themselves.

Yves Saint Laurent

My collection revolves around the revival of ancient hand weaving, earlier when humans used to weave with their finger/hands and cover themselves. So I have opted to show the close-up view of the basic weaves in a more structured and surface embellished form. The silhouettes are quite simple and modern in earthy tone weave textures targeting people who has the attitude towards attire.

Great design isn’t just imagination. It takes inspiration and perspiration. It takes hard work. Mood-board your ideas. Get your thoughts on paper.

I'm inspired by ancient art and artists who made their mark in this world by giving a unique design style called "Kalahasti". The collection shows unique way of using this art and transforming it using different techniques into a beautiful traditional wear. Ò

The name of my collection is “La Dolce Vita!” which means the simple life which is exactly what I wanted to bring out through my designs. “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” was my main motto that drove me through the entire process of making this collection. My main inspiration is

the style icon Audrey Hepburn and the decade between 1955-1965- their simple silhouettes, colours and patterns. The driving force behind this collection was to somehow bring back a bit of the 50s&60s in today’s world. I guess it’s my way of day dreaming of a time period that I wish I could be a part of.

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.

Steve jobs

My collection is inspired by seashells. A piscean by nature's will, I regard the ocean as a huge chunk of my life. Whether it's surfing, swimming, or just lying on the beach, the ocean brings me comfort and keeps me coming back. I'm so infatuated by the texture, colors, and shapes of the seashells and I wanted to see how I could incorporate different characteristics of the seashells in my collection. I used techniques like juxtaposition of the shape of the shells on the silhouette of the garments, and fabric manipulation to recreate the texture of the seashells on fabric. I absolutely loved the final outcome, and I'm definitely looking forward to making my final collection!

Simplicity is always complex to achieve but keeping things simple requires one to have forward, futuristic & advanced thinking. As Leonardo da Vinci rightly said, “Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication”.

Be simple, think forward, dress sophisticated, act passionately, appreciate eveything and travel to open up your mind to the beauty that is this earth.

Work until you nolonger have tointroduce yourself!Design to me is creating distinction, clear visual either in  the form of communication service or product. Working on sustainable, effective and meaningful solutions is what design should be. it is how pieces of various shapes, sizes and color fit together and correspond with each other to build a system.

The essence of Masi is renaissance. It stands for an awakening, flourishes on the ethos of emancipation. Masi's etymological roots can be traced back to a specific ink used in ancient India. At the core of this name is all that ink signifies - the freedom to express, the empowerment that only knowledge can bestow. This philosophy of liberation of the Masi brand is perfectly encapsulated by its logo - the humble lotus. Bourne out of the water, this beautiful flower is synonymous with purity. It rises above above muddy water, and blossoms into a thing of beauty. Masi is a clothing that celebrates women, and their indomitable spirit that constantly ascends over the mire, to enrich the world with beauty, grace and divinity.

Observing every details, things, moments, people, their behaviour in day-to-day life; and using this analysis in the designs.

Observing various designers and the people preferring eco-friendly clothing in everyday life, I came up with this project, which being quiet common is still unique. Costura is an eco-friendly, sustainable women wear, retail brand based in Bangalore. It produces apparels made up of hand woven and chemical free fabrics. It specialises in indo-western clothing where the dresses and the jackets are tailored, being inspired by current global trends, with a variety of Indian embroidery and printing methods. For me Photography is a hobby as well as passion. Here are some of the pictures that I have taken.

3 Way Journey. This book is about what happens in our head when we travel along a know route for a long time. As we walk the same route for a while we tend to notice a lot of minute details along the same path like the way the tree is shaped or how a rock formation looks and the empty plots looks like. And as we notice more and more our imagination tends to get worked up and we start to imagine how these day to day objects look different. This book is about my route from my home to college and I how I imagine different things as I walk along. So I have combined pictures and illustration to show what happens when my imaginations goes wild.

The Coffee packaging is designed in such a way when you put 2 or more packets together they tell a story.

The beer packaging is based on the combination of Game of Thrones and Mad Scientist. The label is made in context referring to the hot series Game of Thrones and the beer bottle is shaped as beaker that a mad Scientist would use when working on his/her experiments.

My Cloth Book. A book which would be easy to carry around, can be rolled and put into the mothers’ bag, light weight, unlike paper it can’t be torn by kids and is washable. It comes with a kit that includes a patchwork quilt, a micro-bead pillow and a cloth bag. Now the ‘WOW’ part about this is that all of this is made out of waste cloth, which would be trashed and here, its fancy, useful and creatively utilized.

Ab Art. The name stands for Aboriginal Art, a themed office table stationary. It exhibits the culture of the Aborigines of Australia and some quite interesting facts and stories, along with design elements they use in their art most profoundly.

OAA: Omega Alumni Association. A complete branding kit which includes logo design, membership card, envelope, letterhead and a few fund - raisers. I designed illustrations of the statements we used only during our school days and used them to sell as stickers also printed them on the mugs, t-shirts, etc. Logo of the Association was designed based on the brief given, keeping in mind the required aesthetics and meaning behind using each element.

Another year full of excitement & buzz. This year has been synonymous with multi-faceted unique array of activities, encouraging social sensitivity in design education & expanding the relevance of design in all areas of society. Students in MSP experienced an interestingly diverse design thinking that culminated into meaningful portfolios ranging from grass root level innovative space design projects on women employment centre, slum rehabilitation & community centres to vast-footed public spaces & sophisticated hospitality spaces. Once again this year, in collaboration with GCSD, we reached out in the community to help building toilets to promote hygiene & sanitation in parts of rural Bangalore. Professionals in the field like Gensler, participated in the speaking events held in the campus where students had access to intellectual interaction. Our best wishes to all our graduates as they now exit as creative practitioners into an ever evolving dynamic professional world.

Be not so cheap that you forget quality, nor be so expensive lest you forget the budget

Burning the midnight oil, can possibly be a designers deepest and most addictive secret. For somewhere in that pristine silence and absolute calmness lies a clarity of vision, direction and inspiration; In a capacity of invigorating the senses responsible for creating “perfection”. Since what we do; defines our personal character, ambitions and work ethics- the more we wish to stress and follow our age old motto- “Duty before Pleasure”.

As a Interior Designer I believe in creating a unique style of space with simple and elegant design solutions and us the space as multi space design, using  muted and less vibrant colors to create a bright and spacious looking Interior. I follow this common theme in all my designs to keep my design philosophy   stable. I completely work to the needs expressed by the clients by creating exciting and creative flare that intrigues them. I always start my design process using a relevant concept, it helps me build an excitement about what he end product will be for me and for everyone, this also helps my design   process get faster and easier.

Styles come and go. Good design is a language, not a style.

Massimo Vignelli Design is a poison and remedy at once – something we can live neither with, because of its inherent entropy, nor without, because only design can protect us from a morbid stalemate. A fixed end-point or goal in every action we take – a construct of our society to “maximize” output – always seemed to hurt any attempt to keep imagination running. Whenever I transform my imagination into something more tangible, maybe a sketch, each line always reaffirms a new perception and simultaneously undoes a construct. I draw a line, it defines a space. Draw two and it defines form. I love the spontaneity of letting lines take me to a cascade of events that reaffirm and undo each other. It isn’t end-point oriented. Deconstructivism as a design language seems to confirm with how I see and perceive.

“Dhinchak”, one word I’d use to describe myself as I get attracted to color and use them extensively to express myself in art, clothes or my designs which is simply a play of loud bold striking colors with neutral tones and quirky designs.

Empower Your Instinct The Product Design lab swung into action when the students were assigned a small but challenging project of two weeks. The Module categorized under Design Drafting & Rendering, needed students to display their creativity and come up with content for a wall art which follows an art movement.

Once the art was completed in digital form, the students had to project it on the wall with the help of a projector. Appreciating the students work, Samarth (PD Lecturer) said “The aspiring students conceptualized every small detail on their own!

Amidst the gusty winds, drizzling rain, blazing sun, students and faculty combined their efforts to build the structure of the stall which is lovingly called “Space out”. Further, to enhance the look and feel, Nisarg Bhatt a Product Design Alumina created an art work to beautify the canteen structure with his never ending bottles of spray paints and out of box creativity. Since, students spend most of their time in the canteen; the ambience had to be gripping.
