Summary of MethodologyMethodology: Students who earned degrees from Teachers College in February and May of 2016 

were required to complete a short survey about their post graduation plans prior to receiving their tickets to the May graduation ceremony. 

Response Rate: 1,731 students earned graduate degrees in Feb and May of 2016.  1,469 of them completed the survey, resulting in a response rate of 84.9%.

• Only 6.9% of Ed.D. students and 14.3% of Ph.D. students are not employed at the time of graduation. • Over 40% of Masters students are unemployed at the time of graduation.

Current Status by Department

• Most respondents entered the job market following graduation, with approximately half of all graduating respondents indicating that they were looking for a new job.

• Approximately 15% of respondents reported that they were pursuing additional education.

• The greatest proportion of respondents report salaries between $40,000‐$54,999 (21%) and $55,000‐$69,999 (17%) across departments

• Just under 20% of graduates reported earning less than $39,999 annually.
