profile
With three years of architectural work experience in designing and documenting multi-residential developments, I am looking for a firm that will help me broaden my professional portfolio and develop my skills as I work towards registration. I am an enthusiastic and highly sociable worker that can work both independently and within a team. With a broad range of international and professional experiences outside of architecture, including marketing, graphic design and public speaking, I strive to bring a unique perspective and passion to any new role.

VICTORIA PARK PEOPLE’S HUBarchitectural design
Design a new Creative Industries Academy at Victoria Park as part of a new master plan of the precinct, including a cinema, retail and dining hub, indoor sports centre and market place.
The spatial configuration of the academy is designed to promote interaction and social engagement. Vertical circulation via the feature staircase gives students the opportunity for chance encounters and many social spaces where they can ‘vent’ or find solace. All learning areas are flexible, allowing them to adapt as the technology that leads design evolves.

RE-IMAGINING IPSWICHsite analysis and urban design
Through extensive site analysis, understanding future environmental, economic and political scenarios, develop a vision for the future of Ipswich. This vision will be achieved through a catalyst development.
Revitalising the city through an engagement with its existing identity resulted in an urban framework that promoted pride and street activation. The reinstatement of the historical tram line, a new brewery and sports stadium and a network of university and research buildings, sees the city of Ipswich transformed into a university campus that is true to it’s original identity, but can face a resilient future.

AS IPSWICH GROWS AND DEVELOPS, WE NEED TO ENSURE THAT THE CITY REMAINS TRUE TO ITS OWN IDENTITY AND PAST. WE SHOULDN’T PICK AND CHOOSE THE HISTORY WE KEEP, ENCOURAGING RAPID GROWTH AND CREATING AN AREA UNFAMILIAR AND FOREIGN TO THE VERY PEOPLE THAT INHABIT IT EVERY DAY. CARE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN TO RETAIN AND REVITALISE AS MUCH OF THE ORIGINAL CITY AS POSSIBLE, WHILE MOVING THE CITY TOWARDS ITS EXCITING NEW FUTURE.
THE ARCHITECTURAL METHODOLOGY IS TO INHABIT AN ALREADY EXISTING BUILDING, PREFERABLY ONE WITHOUT ARCHITECTURAL MERIT. BY TAKING SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE MAY HAVE ORIGINALLY CONSIDERED WORTH DEMOLISHING FOR PURELY AESTHETIC REASONS, THE INSTITUTE RAISES AWARENESS OF THE UNECESSARY WASTE THIS MENTALITY CAUSES, AND THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT CAN BE FOUND IN NON-TRADITIONAL APPROACHES TO RETROFITTING. THIS IS AN OVERARCHING MODEL FOR THE ENTIRETY OF IPSWICH. BY RETAINING AS MUCH OF THE CITY AS POSSIBLE, BUT IMPROVING THE VISUAL AND AMENITY QUALITY, THE CITY CAN MAINTAIN ITS ORIGINAL CHARACTER, EVOLVING AND ADAPTING TO A FUTURE THAT WILL ORGANICALLY FLOW FROM THE IPSWICH INSTITUTE FOR RESILIENT FUTURES.
BUILD IPSWICH UP, DON’T TEAR IT DOWN

RE-IMAGINING IPSWICHarchitectural design
Establishing on research done in the previous mapping assessment, develop an architectural solution to re-establishing Ipswich as a destination and economic hub.
Retrofitting an existing office building in a strategic location to act as a ‘hub’ for pedestrian and economic activation. Building is to be converted into a university/research centre, one of many around Ipswich, turning the city into a campus and creating street activation through pedestrian movement.
