Our diverse collection of venues, Claudelands, FMG Stadium Waikato, Seddon Park and the Grandstand, enables us to host a range of guest experiences. These can be grouped into the following:

Our Guiding Principles

In addition to our Go Beyond qualities that underpin Hamilton City Council’s vision and values, we pride ourselves on the following Guiding Principles:

We specialise in spaces that encourage the sharing of ideas through discussion or celebration. We are curators of unique settings for meetings, conferences and exhibitions for local, national and international markets.

We evoke the chatter and excitement of fans through hosting live sport, from netball to cricket, rugby and boxing. Whether from New Zealand or abroad, our ‘closer to the action’ atmosphere makes us a favourite for athletes and fans alike

We set the stage for the greatest international, national and local artists to perform live, whether a visual spectacular, cultural showcase or spirited community play. We are the hosts of Hamilton, live on stage.

We work together with a can-do attitude to achieve great results and celebrate our successes when they happen. We ignite excitement in our city and regions, and are ambassadors for both our venues and the events taking place in them.

We take care of our clients and value their events as though they are our own. We willingly go the extra mile to deliver the wow factor and leave a lasting impression on our guests.

We are smart operators, setting the benchmark for the industry in New Zealand. We never compromise on quality and always strive for innovation and improvement.

Employee ProfileOur business provides many of our staff with rewarding career opportunities and experiences. Here’s what some of our team have to say about working at H3:

Melissa HughesGraduate (Marketing Coordinator)I was fortunate enough to join H3 in January 2016, shortly after completing a Communications degree through the University of Waikato. With a double major in Marketing and Public Relations and a specialisation in Events Management, I was finally ready to convert my theoretical knowledge into practical experience. Growing up in the Waikato, I was eager to kick-start my events career within this region, which is why I looked no further when I found out about the H3 Graduate Programme. The past year has presented endless opportunities to grow and develop my knowledge within the event industry. The short-term rotations with each team within H3 exposed me to areas of business I never thought I would be capable of understanding. The knowledge and experience I gained while rotating the business is invaluable, and I have experienced more than I thought was possible. I am now fortunate enough to be working as a Marketing Coordinator on my first six month placement, which has allowed me to settle into a role with specified responsibilities. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single aspect of the Graduate Programme so far and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

Karina MissenConference & Functions CoordinatorI joined the H3 team in April 2014 as one of H3’s first graduates. Having completed a degree in Marketing and PR at the University of Waikato, events were something I was passionate about. With very limited event opportunities for a new graduate in Hamilton, I was thrilled to see the Graduate Programme advertised. The programme was a real eye-opener and I’ve experienced more than I could have imagined. It allowed me to participate in every part of our business, doing things I never thought I was capable of. H3 has a brilliant team of dedicated people who are always encouraging me to achieve more and be the best that I can be. In March 2015 I was given the chance to finish my Graduate Programme early and take on the role of Event Administrator at Claudelands, which was an amazing experience. I was able to deliver multiple events and have since moved into the position of Conference & Functions Coordinator working across Claudelands, FMG Stadium Waikato and Seddon Park.I honestly love working for H3 and can’t imagine myself anywhere else. I’m so grateful to have been able to take part in the Graduate Programme and I’m excited to see what I can achieve in the future.

David HolzapfelMarketing CoordinatorI came to H3 in January 2015 as the third Graduate to join the team. Having completed a degree in Communications and Marketing through the University of Waikato and Arizona State University. I found out about H3 through their website and after further investigation I realised how fantastic the Graduate Programme is. H3 gives graduates the rare opportunity to experience every single aspect of their business, from sales to event coordination to stadium operations – the list goes on. I’ve experienced two world cups and a huge range of amazing events in which my roles and responsibilities were never the same. After successfully completing the graduate programme I was given the chance to take on a permanent role as Marketing Coordinator. The journey through the graduate programme has been extremely rewarding, and because H3 is a business full of talented individuals there’s no better place to learn.
