(Before using, please be sure to read)
◎ This Grade Marker T05 Control Software is the Operation Program for PC to show the full perfomace and ability
of Grade Marker T05 Marking Equipment (hereinafter called 「this equipment」) and to pursuit its easier use and handling.
◎ This is Instruction Manual to use Grade Marker T05 Control Software (hereinafter called 「this program」) properly.
We do ask you to read this programe before you start to operate this equipmetn and to handle this program without fail.
And also, we do ask you to well understand the content of this Manual and to observe every description in this programe.
◎ Please read 「SUGGESTIONS FOR SAFETY BEFORE MACHINE OPERATION」without fail before you start to operate this equipment
and to handle this program.
◎ There may be a case that due to reason of specifications change, the content of this Manual and the specifications of
the equipment customer is now using are not same.
◎ This Instruction Manual is provided for customers by supposing them as the readers who purchased this unit.
There may be a case that we are unable to accept any inquiries from any customers who did not purchase this equipment.
◎ There may be a case that the equipment mentioned in this Manual can not be purchased because of the reason of the production
stop.

◎ Communication cables, such as PC cable, must not be bundled with or near to power cable.
Over 100mm must be kept from it.
Moving error may be caused due to noise.
◎ If this equipment is used in assembly with PC device installed this program or machine,
under the responsibility of machine designer, shipping warranty must be established for fail safe design on
the equipment and whole machine.
◎ The stable place with a good balance must be selected for the place where PC installed this program is installed.
And also, any appropriate action for drop prevention must be provided.
CAUTION!
◎ When mounting and removing jobs for connecting cable for PC with this equipment are implemented,
those jobs must be made after all external supply power must be cut off.
If not, there may be in danger of electric shock, failure of each unit and moving error.

1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1.1 FEATURE This program is made to use each function of 「Grade Marker」「Grade Marker T05」 marking equipment easily by taking the
following
points into consideration.
a. Key, which can be used, is displayed on each screen.
b. Operations for each function are allocated to function keys.
c. Each operation can be selected with cursor key and mouse.
d. Multile data can be inputted one by one in conversational processing.
e. Dialog, giving an attention to any wrong input, is displayed.
f. Operation error and fault content are displayed on screen, for which action must be implemented
according to the displayed content.
This equipment can connect PC for operation with PC interface apart from the equipment connected with RS-232
interface or IO interface separately.
However, when the connection of PC for operation is being set up and controlled, any controlled communication
through RS-232 can not be allowed.
For the connection drawing of GradeMarker Marking Equipment (Model: GMK1,GMK1G) with PC for control software,
refer to Instruction Manual for GMK1 separately.
It may be surmised that there may have any injury due to wrong handling. We, therefore, do ask you not to
touch any moving part of each part of marking equipment.

1.2 SIMPLIFIED PROCEDURE UNTIL RUNOFF SETTING AND OPERATION START ◎ Rough procedure until runoff, setting and operation by starting from the possible condition of operation start
after installation, wiring and piping of this equipment completed, is shown below.
◎ PC, where the control software is installed, must be provided at customers.
Start
After power and air pressure are
supplied to this equipment,
power switch is turned ON.

Record data down in 「Setting Value Recoring Sheet」 in advanceby referring to working drawing
according to the marking
content.

No. of pin of connector between front side PC connector and rear side RS-232 connector is different each
other, but they are in the same port. So, simultaneous communication between front and rear and its use are
not possible.
Communication must be implemented by connecting with only either of front side PC connector or rear side
RS-232 conenctor.

3 INSTALL・UNINSTALL
The method of install and uninstall of Grade Maker T05 Control software is shown as follows.
3.1 PROCEDURE OF INSTALL
1. Insert CD-ROM into CD drive where Windows are starting to move.
2. By opening 「Grade Marker T05 setup」 folder, click 「GradeMarker. Msi」.
3. Installer starts to move, and click to next (N).
◎ All other applications started through Windows must be completed. ◎ Any other softwares must not be installed under installing.
◎ CD-ROM must not be taken out from CD drive under installing.

4. Appoint folder of the install address.
The default of the install address is "C:Program Files¥Grademarker¥".
If no problem as it is, click to next (N).
If change is needed, click change (C) to change the content.
5. Installer starts to move, and implement the job as per the instructions.
6. When the install completed properly, the following window is displayed.
Click close (C).

7. When the install completed properly,
「Grademarker」 execution file is saved in the place of "C:Program Files¥Grademarker¥".
If shortcut is needed, make it at your end.
8. Take CD-ROM out from CD drive of PC.

3.2 PROCEDURE OF UNINSTALL
1. Insert CD-ROM into CD drive where Windows are starting to move.
2. By opening 「Grade Marker T05 setup」 folder, right click 「GradeMarker. Msi」.
3. Click uninstall (U) in displayed items.
◎ All other applications started through Windows must be completed. ◎ Any other softwares must not be installed under installing.
◎ CD-ROM must not be taken out from CD drive under installing.

4. Click Yes (Y) .
5. Uninstaller starts to move, and implement the job as per the instructions.
6. When the install completed properly, uninstaller completed automatically.
7. Take CD-ROM out from CD drive of PC.

4 HOW TO OPERATE CONTROL SOFTWARE
How to operate Control Software of Grade Marker T05 is explained below.
This software consists of 2 modes, Online mode and Offline mode.
a. Online mode is the mode that implements each kind of operation and setting change by always making the
communication of data with marking equipment.
b. Offline mode is the mode that implements setting change of file content which has been stored in advance by PC itself.
Therefore, it is not necessary that marking equipment is connected with PC on the Offline mode.
After power and air pressure supplied to this equipment, turn power switch ON.
4.1 PROCEDURE OF STARTING
1. Turn power switch of Grade Marker T05 (hereinafter called 「Marking Equipment」) OFF.
2. Connect PC body and marking equipment with RS-232 cable in a state of control software not starting.
3. Turn power switch of marking equipment ON.
After marking equipment started, status content can be confirmed on LCD of control unit.
Status can be displayed by changing screen with [E] button on keyboard of control unit front side.
For LCD of control unit, refer to IX 「How to Operate Panel」.
4. Control software starts to move.
4.2 MENU
After Control software started, first, the following menu windows are displayed.
On menu windows, setting of communication protocol, selection of online mode and offline mode and selection of each
king of mode can be made.
a. In case that moving mode is online mode : The following left side menu window is displayed.
(Normally this wondow is displayed when starting.)
b. In case that moving mode is offline mode : The following right side menu window is displayed.

4.2.1 COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL SETTING
By clicking cursor selection 「Menu」-「Setting」-「Communication Setting」, the following communication setting
window can be displayed.
On communication setting window, communication protocol between PC and marking equipment is set up.
1. Reset
By pushing a display button Reset , reset command is sent from PC to marking equipment one time.
2. Communication Test
By pushing a display button Communication Test, a test message from PC to marking equipment is sent to check
if communication can be made with the current communication protocol setting.
a. In case that communication is made successfully : The following left communication success window is displayed.
b. In case that communication is made unsuccessfully : The following right communication unsuccess
window is displayed.
3. Close
By pushing a display button close , the screen returns to menu wondow.
Interface, which can change the setting of communication protocol, is
only「RS-232 Connector」at the rear face of control unit. 「PC Connector」
at control unit front face of communication propocol can not be changed due to the fixed setting.

4.2.2 MOVING MODE
On cursor 「Menu」-「Moving Mode」, 2 modes, Online mode and Offline mode, are selected.
4.2.3 HELP
By clicking cursor selection 「Menu」-「Help」, the following version information window is displayed.

4.3 MANUAL OPERATION MODE
After menu window displayed, by selecting a display button Manual Operation , the following manual operation mode
window can be displayed.
4.3.1 PROCESS WHEN MANUAL OPERATION STARTS
After manual operation mode window displayed, zero point return process must be implemented as per the screen instructions.
1. Zero Point Return Process
Soon after manual operation mode window displayed, the following 「Implement Zero Point Return」window is displayed.
By pushing a display button OK of 「Implement Zero Point Return」window and then, pushing F10 button, zero point
return process must be implemented.
2. Communication Error
When zero point return process is being implemented with a display button F10 ,if any fault is found between PC
and marking equipment, zeri point return process can not be completed properly and the following error window
is displayed. When any communication error occurs, refer to 「4.6.2 Main Cause and Action When Communication Fault
(Communication unsuccessful) occurs」.

4.3.2 OPERATION OF MANUAL OPERATION MODE (STANDARD MARKING)
In case of standard marking setting group, the following manual operation mode window is displayed.
Manual operation mode window of standard marking or arc marking can be changed automatically depending on group
number to be set up.
Standard Marking setting group: Group No. 0 ~ 399 and Group No. 500 - 511
As shown in the following window, each marking character is displayed with a red line square and pen position is
dispalyed with a cross.
And also, the length of one side of a square of marking character is equivalent to character height.
(0, 0) coordinates on left side of coordinates display shows zero point, and the axis of abscissa is X axis and
the vertical axis is Y axis.
(0, 0) coordinates direction is for minus (-) both for X axis and Y axis, and (105.0, 0) coordinates direction for
X axis and (0, 105.0) coordinates direction for Y axis are for plus (+).
1. Menu
Cursor 「Menu」-「File Process」-「Sequence Operation」-「to Menu」-「Completion」 can be selected.

2. Each Command (Setting Data) and Points to pay attentions
Setting content of each command (setting data) is shown below.
Under setting, as shown in the following window, 「Under User Inputting」 is displayed in red character until
setting input process completes.
◎ [G] Group No.
Calling of group registered in marking equipment is made.
By inputting "G" from keyboard, or clicking a display button G Group No. , the table for group number
selection is displayed, through which group number can be selected. The effective range of group number
is an integer between 0 ~ 511.
◎ [X] [Y] Marking Position
Setting and display of marking starting position are made.
By inputting "X" and "Y" from keyboard, or clicking a display button X Marking Position X
Y Marking Position Y , input can be made and so, marking position can be inputted.
The effective range of marking position is between 0.0 - 105.0, and unit is 0.1mm per a scale.
◎ [H] Character Height
Height of marking character is set up.
By inputting "H" from keyboard, or clicking a display button H Character Height , input can made,
and so, marking character height can be inputted. The effective range of marking character height is
between 0 ~ 20, and unit is 0.1mm per a scale.
◎ [D] Character Direction
Direction of marking character is set up.
By inputting "D" from keyboard, or clicking a display button D Character Direction ,
the table for character direction selection is displayed. The following window is displayed,
through which character direction can be selected.
◎ [U] Marking Direction
Marking direction of marking character is set up.
By inputting "U" from keyboard, or clicking a display button U Marking Direction , the table for marking direction
selection is displayed. The following window is displayed, through which marking direction can be selected.
◎ [P] Marking Pitch
Character interval of marking character is set up.
By inputting "P" from keyboard, or clicking a display button P Marking Pitch , input can be made,
and so, interval of marking character can be inputted.
The effective range of marking pitch is between -20.0 - +20.0, and unit is 0.1mm per a scale.

◎ [V] New Line Pitch
New line interval of marking character is set up.
By inputting "V" from keyboard, or clicking a display button V New Line Pitch , input can be made,
and so, marking position can be inputted.
The effective range of new line pitch is between 0.0 - 20.0, and unit is 0.1mm per a scale.
◎ [S] Marking Speed
Marking speed of marking character is set up.
By inputting "S" from keyboard, or clicking a display button S Marking Speed , input can be made,
and so, marking speed can be inputted.
The effective range of marking speed is between 10 - 1200, and unit is 1 cm/min. per a scale.
◎ [Q] Marking Character
Marking character string is set up.
By inputting "Q" from keyboard, or clicking a display button Q Marking Character , input can be made,
and so, marking character string can be inputted. However, the available number of marking
character is upto maximum 32 characters. For the available marking character, refer to Table 1.
「_」 shows a blank, 「%」 shows new line character, 「#」 shows ”。” and 「?」 shows ”.”.
◎ [F] [L] High Speed in Manual Operation, Low Speed in Manual Operation
High speed in manual operation of JOG motion and moving speed at the time of low speed in manual operation
are set up.
By inputting "F" and "L" from keyboard, or clicking a display button F L , high speed in manual operation
and low speed in manual operation can be inputted respectively, and so, each moving speed can be inputted.
The effective range both of high speed in manual operation and low speed in manual operation is between 10 - 1500,
and unit is 1cm/min. per a scale.
◎ [ESC] Emergency Stop or Reset
Emergency stop of marking equipment and reset at the time of error occurrence are implemented.
By inputting "ESC" from keyboard, or clicking a display button Emergency Stop Reset , emergency
stop or reset is implemented.

When cursor is pushed for over a certain period continuously, pen on each axis starts to move.
On keyboard, it moves in high speed in manual operation with "Shift" + "←" "↑" "→" "↓", and in
low speed in manual operation with "Ctrl" + "←" "↑" "→" "↓" . (It moves in the setting speed.)

◎ [F3] Pen Motion
When marking executed, change of ON/OFF of pen motion (Z axis up/down motion) is made.
In case of ON, without going down, pen makes only movement of X axis and Y axis on its upward end.
By inputting "F3" from keyboard, or clicking a display button F3 , change of effectiveness and
ineffectiveness is made.
◎ [F4] Vibration ON
Motion of vibration ON/OFF of stylus on air pen tip is made manually.
By inputting "F4] from keyboard, or clicking a display button F4 , it starts to move.
◎ [F5] Up/Down Motion of Pen
Up motion and down motion of ascending part and descending part of air pen (Z axis) are made.
By inputting "F5] from keyboard, or clicking a display button F5 , it starts to move.
◎ [F7] Setting of the current position
By inputting "F7" from keyboard, or clicking a display button F7 , the current position of X axis is
set up on marking position X, and the current position of Y axis is set up on marking position Y.
By clicking F7 , the following window is displayed, and by clicking Yes (Y) , the current position is
set up. By clicking No (N) , it is cancelled.
◎ [F8] Marking
Marking motion of group number being displayed currently starts to move.
By inputting "F8" from keyboard, or clicking a display button F8 , it starts to move.
Under marking, as shown in the following window, 「Under Marking」 is displayed in red character until marking
process completes.
◎ [F9] Position Fitting
Position movement is implemented.
By inputting "F9" from keyboard, or clicking a display button F9 , it moves to the marking position
being displayed currently.
◎ [F10] Zero Point Return
Zero point return is implemented.
By inputting "F10" from keyboard, or clicking a display button F10 , it starts to move.

4.4 FILE PROCESSING
4.4.1 MENU OF FILE PROCESSING
After menu window displayed, by selecting a display button File Process , the following file processing
window is displayed.
On file processing window, the displayed content can be changed by setting moving mode.
a. In case that moving mode is online mode, the following file processing window on left side is displayed.
(When starting normally, this side is displayed.)
b. In case that moving mode is offline mode, the following file processing window on right side is displayed.
4.4.2 ONLINE MODE→MARKING EQUIPMENT
After file processing window displayed, on moving online mode, by selecting a display button Marking Equipment→File ,
the following 「Marking Equipment → File」 window and 「Reading from Marking Equipment」window are displayed.
After 「Reading from Marking Equipment」 window displayed, first, the reading processing from marking equipment
must be implemented according to the instructions on the screen.
When 「Reading from Marking Equipment」 window is displayed, by clicking Yes (Y) , the reading starts.
By clicking No (N) , it is cancelled. When the reading completed, the reading value is displayed in the
table shown above.

4.5 SEQUENCE MODE
After menu window displayed, by selecting a display button Manual Operation , the following manual operaiton mode
window is displayed.
4.5.1 PROCESSING WHEN SEQUENCE MODE STARTING
After sequence operation mode window displayed, first, zero point return process must be implemented according
to the instructions on the screen.
1. Zero Point Return Processing
Soon after manual operation mode window displayed, the following 「Implement Zero Point Return」window is displayed.
After OK button of 「Implement Zero Point Return」 window pushed and F10 button pushed, Zero point return
processing must be implemented.
2. Communication Error
When zero point return processing implementing with a display button F10 , if any fault is found in the
communication between PC and marking equipment, zero point return cannot be completed properly and the
following window is displayed. When any commnucation error occurs, refer to 「4.6.2 Main Cause and Action
When Communication Fault (Communication unsuccessuful) occurs」.

4.5.2 OPERATION OF SEQUENCE MODE (STANDARD MARKING AND ARC MARKING)
In case of standard marking setting group, the following manual operation mode window is displayed.
Depending on group number to be set up, manual operation mode window for standard marking or for arc marking
can be changed automatically.
Standard marking setting group : Group No. 0 - 399 and Group No. 500 - 511
As shown in the following window, each marking character is displayed with a red line square and pen position is
dispalyed with a cross.
And also, the length of one side of a square of marking character is equivalent to character height.
(0, 0) coordinates on left side of coordinates display shows zero point, and the axis of abscissa is X axis and
the vertical axis is Y axis.
(0, 0) coordinates direction is for minus ( - ) both for X axis and Y axis, and (105.0, 0) coordinates direction
for X axis and (0, 105.0) coordinates direction for Y axis are for plus (+).
1. Menu
Cursor 「File」-「File Processing」「Sequence Operation」「to Menu」「Completion」 can be selected.
2. File
Cursor 「File」-「Sequence Reading」「Sequence Save」can be selected.
a. Sequence Reading
Reading of sequence file being saved is implemented. (Data being saved with sequence File ***.)
b. Sequence Saving
The saving of the current sequence is implemented. (Saving with sequence file ***.)
3. Each Command (Setting Data) and Points to pay attentions
Any item other than the following setting item is the same as manual operation mode both for standard marking
and arc marking setting groups.
◎ [F8] Sequence Start or Sequence Stop
The motion of sequence being displayed currently starts to move.
And also, in case that it was aleady under moving and repeat is ON, when 1 cycle completed, it stops.
By inputting "F8" from keyboard, or clicking a display button F8 , it starts and stops.
Under sequence processing, as shown in the following window, 「Under Sequence Processing」 is displayed
in red character until the processing completes.
By implementing stop processing, as shown in the following window, 「Under Stop Processing」 is displayed
in red character until the processing completes.

◎ Motion
Command you want to execute on sequene processing must be inputted.
By clicking moving part of each part, command can be selected.
It can be selected from display item 「No Processing」 「Only Marking」 「Movement + Marking」「Only Marking」.
◎ Group No.
Group No. to execute command determined by motion must be inputted.
By clicking group number part of each item, number can be selected.
ON / OFF motion is implemented.
It can be selected from display item 「Group 0」-「Group 5」.
◎ Repeat
Effectiveness and ineffectiveness of the repeat processing of items being set up from 1 - 10 of sequence
processing can be selected.
It can be selected from display item 「Repeat ON」「Repeat OFF」.

4.6 ACTION AGAINST FAULT
Fault display when operating is shown below.
4.6.1 MAIN GAUSE AND ACTION WHEN FAULT OCCURS.
1. Content of Fault
After each command trasmitted, fault in case that fault code is received from marking equipment.
After fault occurred, the following 「Error Signal Received」 window is displayed.
2. Action against Fault
By referring to the following content, action must be taken against fault.
a. No response received from marking equipment.
Cause : Marking equipment does not start. Power switch is in a state of OFF, etc.
Action : Check supply power, turn power ON.
b. Air Pressure down
Cause : Air pressure is not supplied, air pressure is getting lower than the rated pressure, etc.
Action : Check if air pressure has the rated pressure, or not.
c. Marking equipment is under fault.
Cause : After any fault outputted in marking equipment, fault is in a state of not being reset.
Action : Once power switch of markind equipment is turned OFF, and then, turn it ON again.
4.6.2 MAIN CAUSE AND ACTION WHEN COMMUNICATION FAULT OCCURS.(COMMUNICATION UNSUCCESSFUL)
1. Content of Fault
Fault by communication unavailable.
After fault occurred, the following 「Communication Error Time out」window is displayed.
2. Action against Fault
By referring to the following content, action must be taken against fault.
a. The specifications of RS-232 cable being used are different.
Cause : Cable with straight connection is used, or wiring specifications are different.
Action : By referring to「2.3 Specifications of Wiring」, RS-232 cable suitable for specifications must be used.
b. COM Port being set up is different.
Cause : There is some difference between COM port of PC, which is connected with RS-232 cable,
and COM port, which is connected with Control software.
Action : Connection or setting must be changed to make both ports corresponded.
c. Though USB to RS-232 serial conversion cable is used, communication is not made properly.
Cause : Wrong function of conversion cable.
Action : By making install of driver of conversion cable again, adjust it to have a proper function,
or startup PC again.
