Students will read a passage and complete a compre- hension task. They have also enjoyed the Read and Draw tasks, working on their reading skills. WRITING Students have created Pocket Comic Books in week 1 on the topic of Space. In week 2 were beginning our unit of work on Information Reports. NUMERACY This week is the beginning of our focus on Money and Financial Maths. At home, children can help with the household budget and adding up grocery shopping. TOPIC This term we are studying What s in the Night Sky? This week the students have been introduced with mysterious sightings and visualizations from outer space. In week 2, students will be transforming their classrooms into rockets! Welcome Back! The Grade 6 team hopes that everyone had a resul holiday and kept out of the cold and rain. We are all excited about the new term with an excing Space Topic— Whats in the Night Sky? We have already started invesgang this ques- on and preparing our classrooms for the Rocket Walk in two weeks. Elecves begun this week, with students parcipang in their new acvies. All students are enthusiasc about the new learning that will be taking place. Parent Teacher Interviews Monday 20th - there is sll me and room for parents to book in. We are all looking forward to the learning experiences this term! Week 1 Awards Stars of the Week Awards: Cory 6AT— awe- some attitude to the start of term. DAngelo 6JB— always completing tasks and motivat- ing peers. Bella 6DM—taking responsibility for her learning and reading every night.
