Introduction Welcome to our Week without walls programme. This programme is developed to give students the opportunity to work together to build relationships and leadership skills. It also provides students with the opportunity to see how they learn in the classroom relates to the world around them. Links to the taught and written curriculum are made and are an essential part of our Middle Years Programme. We hope that the information provided in this booklet will give you valuable information as well as the essence of what the trip is all about. Please do contact us if you have any questions regarding this trip. The Team: Trip Coordinator – Ms Jane Altemen -‐ 081282367204 Team members: Ms. Liz Carrick Ms. Mairin Raisdana Mr. Reza Anggara Mr. David Chin Ms. Dianne Gammage Mr. Daniel Zhang
The Location: The Grade 6 trip will be based in two different locations. For the first two nights of the trip we will be based at Sinarmas World Academy. Here the students will have the chance to be involved in team building activities and working with people in the local community. This is a part of the community and service requirement of the MYP programme. Students will have the chance to engage with activities which concentrate on them becoming caring compassionate people and also to help build leadership and team skills which will be needed in their life journey. The second location is where we will spend the second two nights of our trip. We will be travelling to a camp just outside of Bogor – The Highland Park Resort. Here the students will have the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Java and enjoy a variety of activities to further develop their collaboration and communication skills.

The Accommodation For the first two nights (Monday and Tuesday) we will be based at Sinarmas World Academy, students will be firstly sleeping the Grade 6 Piazza and on the second night they will try their hands at camping. We have arranged tents for this outdoor camp, which will be set up in the grounds of our beautiful school. For the third and fourth nights the students will be staying at a Five Star Mongolian Tent site on the outskirts of Bogor. This camp is set up specifically for school groups and businesses and includes many different outdoor activities. The campsite itself is the only five star resort of its kind in Asia and will be a wonderful experience for our children. The tents have been created in traditional Mongolian style.

Travel Arrangements We will be travelling by bus to Bogor, once at the camp we will not require transport as everything that we do will be within the confines of the campsite. The bus we use will be organised through our transport manager and will be fully air-‐conditioned. Travel Insurance: We have organised travel insurance for all students and will discuss this at the parent meeting.
