1. Write the decimals in the place value chart. For 2.43, 2 is in the ones place, 4 is in the tenths place, and 3 is in the hundredths place. For 0.9, 0 is in the ones place and 9 is in the tenths place.

2. Starting with the place value farthest to the left, compare the digits. Since 2 is greater than 0, 2.43 is greater than 0.9 or 2.43 > 0.9.
