When working with possessive nouns we must remember to:
1. Circle the noun that owns the object.
2. Check to see if the noun is singular or plural.
3. Add an apostrophe to the end of a plural noun if it ends in s.
4. Add an apostrophe and an s if the plural noun does not already end in s.
What is a Possessive Noun?
A possessive noun is a noun that shows ownership of someone or something.
Plural NounsPlural means more than one.

These girls own their dresses.
Plural PossessivesThe girls’ dresses are very pretty.
Since the noun girls ends in an s, all you have to do is put an apostrophe at
the end.
