IB-MYP PERSONAL PROJECT
• By the end of this session, you will recognize the components of the Personal Project requirements and be able to support your scholars as they prepare to complete the project.
OBJECTIVE
Al final de esta session, usted podra reconocer los componentes de los requerimientos del Proyecto Personal y va a poder apoyar a su alumno para la preparacion del proyecto.

TYPES OF PROJECTSTIPOS DE PROYECTOS
Requires scholars to take responsibility for their learning by researching and investigating a project of your choice.
Requiere que el alumu tome la responsabilidad de su aprendizaje a través de la investigación en el proyecto de su elección.

• What Area(s) of Interaction they find of particular interest?• Qué área(s) de interacción encuentran interesante?

• What are some of their hobbies or interests? What are some of the things they do really well? (e.g. act, play piano or soccer)

HOW WILL SCHOLARS GET STARTED?CÓMO LOS ALUMNO EMPEZAR?
To fulfill the Personal Project requirements
scholars must:
• Select a project and Mr. Andrews will assign a mentor to supervise the project• Record the process and progress in the Personal Project Journal• Incorporate three Areas of Interaction in the project, with one area being Approaches to Learning• Document 5 meetings with his/her mentor • Turn in a completed research paper to Mr. Andrews for a class grade
To fulfill the written requirement scholars
must
• Write a thousand word essay that contains: • The Essential Question (Introduction) • The student's Process (as extracted from the Journal) • The student's Personal Statement (How do the Areas of Interaction relate to this project?) • The Conclusion (What answers to the Essential Question did the student find?)

WHAT MEASURES SUCCESS?QUÉ MIDE EL ÉXITO
IT IS DESIGNED TO ASSESS THEIR ABILITY TO ORGANIZE AND CREATE, AND THUS MUST NOT BE PART OF THE COURSEWORK FOR ANY OTHER SUBJECT. GRADES ARE AWARDED FOR THE PERSONAL PROJECT IN THE SAME WAY AS FOR THE EIGHT SUBJECT GROUPS OF THE MYP CURRICULUM.
