A Tree Is a PlantMain Selection Summary
A Tree Is a PlantHow does an apple tree grow? It begins as a
small seed. The seed falls to the ground. Then as
the wind blows, soil covers the seed. The seed gets
pressed into the ground.
When spring comes, the sun and rain help
the seed to grow. The sun warms the earth. Rain
gives water to the seed. It starts to grow. The tree
begins as a small plant. It has just two leaves and
a stem. The tree grows each year. It can get very
big and tall.
After many years, the
tree will bloom. Soon the
blooms fall off the tree. Green
leaves are left on the branches.
Apples begin to grow on the
tree. They will be ripe and
ready to eat in the fall.
