How Many Sounds? Is there one sound or two? Or are there no sounds?

To do: Drag the puppies to show how many sounds you hear.

Activity #6: How Many Sounds?

In the last activity, you used puppies to show one and two sounds. In this activity, use real notes to write the rhythm! One sound on a beat is “ta”. Two sounds are called “ti-ti.” No sound on a beat is a rest. Use the “ta” and “ti-ti” notes to write the rhythm of Bow Wow Wow.

Now it’s your turn to create a word rhythm pattern! Here’s an example:Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, DogDog, Dog, Tommy, Dog.Say your word rhythm pattern out loud and clap it! If you’ve made home-made instruments play your rhythm on instruments.
