beat and rhythm, and you’ll learn some themes from Peter and the Wolf.

Open the interactive and click on some of the beats (hearts) to turn them off. Then sing the song! Remember to sing the beats (hearts) that you turned off “in your head.”

How Many Sounds? Is there one sound or two? Or are there no sounds?

To do: Drag the puppies to show how many sounds you hear.

Activity #6: How Many Sounds?

In the last activity, you used puppies to show one and two sounds. In this activity, use real notes to write the rhythm! One sound on a beat is “ta”. Two sounds are called “ti-ti.” No sound on a beat is a rest. Use the “ta” and “ti-ti” notes to write the rhythm of Bow Wow Wow.

Activity #7: How Many Sounds? (With notes!)

Now it’s your turn to create a word rhythm pattern! Here’s an example:Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, DogDog, Dog, Tommy, Dog.Say your word rhythm pattern out loud and clap it! If you’ve made home-made instruments play your rhythm on instruments.

Activity #8: Create a Word Rhythm Pattern

In this activity, you’ll name the notes with solfa names.

Do is d, Re is r, Mi is m, So is s, and La is l.

If you can’t remember the solfa, press the play button and listen to the singer sing it in solfa again.
