LET YOUR GOD LOVE YOU by Edwina Gateley

Be silent.

Be still.

Alone.

Empty

Before your God.

Say nothing.

Ask nothing.

Be silent.

Be still.

Let your God look upon you.

That is all.

God knows.

God understands.

God loves you

With an enormous love,

And only wants

To look upon you

With that love.

Quiet.

Still.

Be.

Let your God—Love you.

I NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT WE SING by Jan Wubbena

This past month have you noticed a change in the ambience in the nave before

the 11:15 service? It’s quieter, and quieter for a longer time span prior to service

time. I attribute this to the move to the 11:15. Christian Formation still ends at

10:45, but now there are 30 minutes for the fellowship time AND for quiet time

in the nave. I have observed the parish hall emptying as the choir and acolytes

have gathered in a circle for our pre-service prayer. Most of the “fellowship

crowd” are already in their pews by the time the choir and I move to our places.

What do you do once you have taken your seat and said your pre-service

prayer?

Recap from April 11-12…

We’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response to our first annual

Parish Retreat at Camp Mitchell on April 11-12, 2014. Forty-Five

people attended including individuals, couples, and children. The

highlights included delicious food, an exceptional Godly Play

session for the adults, games and activities for those who wanted

and beautiful grounds with quiet spaces for those who wanted to

relax. We look forward to planning the second annual Parish

Retreat in 2015.

Spring Concert

May 25th

at 3:00 p.m.

All are invited to join us at the Grace Children’s Choir School Spring

Concert on Sunday, May 25th, at 3:00 p.m. Let’s show our support

for the hard work and skills of our children’s choir.

House Warming Party

June 1st

Grace House was donated by George and Mary Benjamin last year.

Since its acquisition we have expanded our meeting spaces for our

children’s programs, vestry gatherings, and other groups that meet

during the month. This house has given us more space overall to

accommodate for our growing staff. We would like to furnish the

house with kitchen supplies and seating for the various groups that

meet. If you have any mugs, plates, silverware, glasses, pots, pans,

baking dishes, or other items you think would work for Grace

House, please bring them to our House Warming Party on Sunday,

June 1st. This will be a fun time to inaugurate Grace House!
