    Greetings Pony Lovers –

As I write this the Vernal Equinox is nearly upon

us, while the weather has taken a decidedly spring-

like turn. And switching to daylight savings time

definitely helps cure the winter blahs. Let’s hope

that March doesn’t decide to go out like a lion.

I misspoke in my March message. There are

actually three weeks between the Poker Run on

    May 22nd

and the All Ford-Powered Show on June

    12th

at Shults Ford-Lincoln. But it’s still going to

be a very busy time for the Club starting with the

Poker Run through Can-Am on June 24th

    -26th

    .

The overall agenda for Can-Am has been finalized

and everyone should have received a copy of the

flyer & registration form. Extra hardcopies of the

registration form will be available at all meetings.

If you register by May 21st it’s only $25/person, and

includes the river boat cruise, Saturday night dinner,

a dash plaque and a commemorative jacket patch.

There’s still a lot of work to do planning final Can-

Am details. So starting at the April meeting I’ll be

around asking many of you to volunteer for specific

    jobs. Here’s a link to a ten-minute YouTube video

MVMC produced showing last year’s Can-Am:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/mvmustangs95.

Does the GPMC have any budding filmmakers out

    there?

On a sad note, I want to mention the tragic death of

Nick Cipa, son of long-time members Andi and

Kevin Cipa. Nick had long been ill with Evans

Syndrome, and the Club had chosen the Central

Blood Bank as our All Ford-Powered Show charity

three years ago to support the Cipa family. Nick

recently had been doing well, so his untimely death

was particularly sad. Our thoughts and prayers go

    out to Andi and Kevin.

Jennie & I are sorry we missed you all at the March

meeting, since we decided to instead check out the

tsunami from Japan as it descended on Hawaii. But

we’re back now, so we look forward to seeing you

all at the next meeting on April 6th

    .

Minutes of March 2, 2011 Combined Board and General Meeting

Filling in for vacationing Ken Barker, the combined meeting was called to order by Danielle Lane, Vice President, at

King’s in Harmarville. The sign-in sheet was passed around and the 50/50 raffle tickets were sold by Dwight Hutton.

New Members/Guests: New members present were, Ron and Alice Shaulis of Seven Springs, owners of 5 Mustangs.

They attended a CanAm event and decided to join the GPMC.

Minutes: There were no additions or corrections to the February 2, 2011 minutes. Moved by Bob Kacinko and seconded

by Jeff Bilka to accept the minutes. Motion carried.

Correspondence/Illness: Ed Saitz reported that Tom is doing well and hopes to be at the All Ford Show.

Treasurer’s Report: Jason reported that February was a small month and reviewed the income and expenses. Income

was from advertising, 50/50, and tee shirt sales. The TRCCC dues were paid. The annual General Liability Premium is due. It was moved by Jason Uhler and seconded by Andy Schor to pay the premium. Motion carried.

As part of his report under New Business, Jason discussed the Christmas Party – tentative costs, location, and there is a 50-person minimum. The location will be the Hampton Banquet Hall, Rte. 8, and two dates were discussed – Dec. 4 and

Dec. 11. It was moved by Cheryl Bakaj and seconded by Mark Morrow to select Sunday, December 11, as the date for the Christmas Party. Motion carried.

Membership: Mary welcomed new members, Ron and Alice Shaulis, and reported that Joe and Darlene Andreola, and

Dan and Deborah Boyle joined. Also 52 members renewed, and we have 5 lifetime members; 32 have not yet renewed; and 5 out of the 32 are not renewing. A 2nd notice was sent out on Feb. 14 and she will send the final notice this

month. Mary reported that 3 people have registered for the CanAm.

Newsletter: Jennie on vacation. Danielle reported that newsletter articles are due the 15th of the month.

Merchandise: Andy reported he found one old-style sweatshirt and the cost is $20.

Webmaster: Nathanial Hupp absent. Danielle asked that members send their car pictures to Nathan at

    [email protected].

TRCCC: Ed reported that the club’s $20 membership renewal was paid.

MCA: Ed stated that GPMC has received 4 President’s awards and will try for a 5th. If anyone joined the MCA last year and this year, let him know. The All Ford Show will be held at Shults Ford Lincoln on June 12. Ed added he hopes that

the show will raise enough money to fund a scholarship for a child to attend a summer camp sponsored by the Crohn’s

& Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).

Activities: Dwight reported that he is working on the 2nd Annual Bowling event. It’s scheduled for Friday, March 11, 7

to 9 PM, at the FunFest Entertainment Center, Freeport Road, Harmarville. Cost is $12.50/person. He has to give them a number of attendees by Monday, March 7. Dwight will e-mail everyone. Regarding CanAm, Dwight distributed regis-

tration forms, and the flyers and forms were e-mailed to members and the other four clubs-Mahoning Valley, Lake Erie, Niagara Classic, and Northeast Ohio. Registration before May 21 is $25 and after May 21, $30.00.

Upcoming Events: These are listed in the newsletter. Regarding the Poker Run, Joe Dvorsky will be in charge of park-

ing cars at La Casa Narcisi Winery but does need help. Mark Morrow is still working on the Shelby Spotlight show at the PVGP. Jeff Bilka discussed the Mustang vs. Camaro Shootout (Flashlight Drags) at BeaveRun scheduled for Saturday,

May 28, and asked if the club is interested in participating. The cost is $5/spectator and $25 for car entry. Info was sent to the Camaro Club in Ohio. The club would give a tentative yes as attending, but this would be voted upon at the

    next meeting.
