Kirsten KellyEmmy-winning filmmaker of The Homestretch, a captivating documentary that follows three Chicago teens facing homelessness.
Kirsten Kelly is a documentary filmmaker, award-winning theatre director, educator and advocate. Her 2015 Emmy-winning documentary film, The Homestretch, appeared on PBS’ Independent Lens and follows three homeless Chicago teens as they fight to stay in school, graduate, and build a future.
As a result of the film, Ms. Kelly was awarded the “2015 Spirit of Youth Award” from the National Runaway Safeline and the “Chicago Community Advocate” award by the Night Ministry. The Homestretch was featured at the White House Initiative on Excellence in Education for African Americans in June 2016 and was selected as one of the featured films in the State Department’s “American Film 2016 Series.”
The film’s Impact Campaign Team has partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to bring greater focus to supporting homeless youth on a federal policy level. In June 2016, Civic Enterprises, a D.C. education think tank, released a revolutionary report (inspired by the film) on homeless youth and its connection to high school success and dropout rate.
Kelly is currently Senior Producer at Transform Films where she is involved in producing impact campaigns on films examining mass incarceration and women veterans. She is also a Fellow at the Sundance Documentary Institute and a graduate of the Master’s Directing program at Juilliard.
David R. WilliamsInternationally renowned Harvard sociologist, leading author and researcher on social influences on health.
David R. Williams is the Florence and Laura Norman Professor of Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Professor of African and African American Studies and Sociology at Harvard University. Dr. Williams is an internationally recognized authority on social influences on health. The author of more than 400 scientific papers, his research has enhanced our understanding of the complex ways in which socioeconomic status, race, stress, racism, health behavior and religious involvement can affect health.
Dr. Williams has played a visible, national leadership role in raising awareness levels of the problem of health inequalities and identifying interventions to address them. He has served on the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics and on eight committees for the National Academy of Medicine, including the committee that produced the Unequal Treatment report.
He served as the staff director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Commission to Build a Healthier America and as a key scientific advisor to the award-winning PBS film series, Unnatural Causes: Is Inequality Making Us Sick? The Everyday Discrimination Scale that he developed is one of the most widely used measures of discrimination in health studies. In 2014, Thomson Reuters ranked him as one of the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds.

Tony AlfieriManaging Director, Tax Credit Investments, RBC Capital Markets – Tax Credit Equity Group / President, Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition
Tony Alfieri has worked extensively in the banking industry for over 25 years, primarily specializing in real estate finance and the creation of affordable housing. As Managing Director-Tax Credit Investments for RBCCM-TCEG, he has substantial responsibility for all of the buy-sell activity within the business unit, along with co-heading this team of professionals as a key Operating Committee member. Since joining their management team in 2006, Tony has held positions as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director for Asset Management, and Chief Credit Officer for RBC’s affordable housing platform. Previously, Mr. Alfieri was a Director in Wachovia Bank’s Tax Credit Investment Group, where he served in various capacities including Director of Risk Management and had approval authority for equity investments and debt in a multi-billion dollar portfolio.
Emily CadikDirector, Public Policy, Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. / ACTION Campaign
Emily Cadik is the Director of Public Policy at Enterprise Community Partners, where she leads policy and advocacy related to the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, New Markets Tax Credit and rental assistance programs. She is involved in leading the Rental Housing ACTION Campaign, serves on the board of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition, and was recently named one of Affordable Housing Finance’s 2016 Young Leaders. Prior to joining Enterprise in 2012, she was a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she served as a program coordinator for the Moving to Work demonstration and in the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. She earned a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

He joined Novogradac in January 2015. David Gasson joined Boston Capital in 1995 and is responsible for all external communications including community affairs, public affairs, state and federal legislative issues and housing policy. Mr. Gasson also serves as Executive Director of the Housing Advisory Group, a 501(c)(6) organization established in 1993 to help educate state and federal officials on housing programs and policies. The Housing Advisory Group’s membership consists of developers, syndicators and other professionals from around the country involved in the affordable housing industry. Mr. Gasson is a member of the Affordable Housing ACTION Campaign steering committee within which he serves on the policy/legislative subcommittee and the tax reform working group. Mr. Gasson regularly consults with Members of Congress and congressional staff on policies affecting housing policy. Before joining Boston Capital, Mr. Gasson served in several capacities in Washington with House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt and Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell.
Bob MossPrincipal, National Director of Governmental Affairs, CohnReznick
Bob Moss leads CohnReznick’s federal and state government relations efforts with a focus on the affordable housing industry. Mr. Moss has 31 years of affordable, multifamily housing experience including syndication, preservation and development. He is the Chairman of the non-partisan Housing Advisory Group, and served as the Federal Legislative Subcommittee Chair for the Housing Credit Group of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). In 2015, Mr. Moss was inducted into the National Affordable Housing Hall of Fame by Affordable Housing Finance magazine. He has testified before the full House Ways and Means Committee on Tax Credit Reform and Residential Real Estate hearings, as well as Senate and House Subcommittees on affordable housing issues. He currently serves as Vice President of the board for the National Leased Housing Association, and is active with the Council of Independent State
Housing Associations (CISHA), the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition and the ACTION Rental Housing Campaign.
Stephen J. WallacePartner, Affordable Housing Practice, Group Leader, Nixon Peabody
Stephen Wallace is the leader of Nixon Peabody’s Affordable Housing practice and one of the nation’s foremost authorities on the preservation of government-assisted housing. He has been very closely involved in the legislative and regulatory development of the various federal affordable housing preservation programs over the past 25 years. Much of his work involves helping clients refinance, rehab and preserve the affordable housing stock to increase its value and long-term viability. He was part of the successful effort to have HUD approve post-rehab rents effective at loan closing for certain types of financing. Owners and purchasers of older HUD-assisted properties turn to him for advice on addressing complex transactional and regulatory matters. Mr. Wallace is in close contact with HUD officials as they work together to decipher the fine print of affordable housing legislation and get preservation deals done. Sometimes these issues take him to Capitol Hill or state housing agencies as well to seek clarification or resolution of critical preservation issues.
