WHAT WILL THE GAME LOOK LIKE?

• ECB Chief Medical Officer has reviewed cricket activity with UK Government SAGE scientists. Observations:

• Cricket is generally socially distanced on the field and this is a low risk.

• Time spent off the field must be socially distanced and well ventilated, especially when indoors.

• Adaptations required in the recreational game:

• Shorter formats and number of participants.

• No use of changing rooms – arrive ready for play.

• Regular cleaning of the ball and player hands (hygiene breaks).

• Minimisation of the duration of ‘close encounters’.

• Social distancing off the field – adaptation to use of venues.

PAVILIONS

What is the capacity of your facility?Management and communication of this is key.

Changing rooms high risk so must be closed, kept clean for a isolation room

Consider solutions that meets social distance guidance

Inclement weather management, Plan• Players / spectators are directed to return to vehicles in the event of

rain Inclement weather will increase demand for indoor space –including spectators

• Maximum occupancy levels should be respected regardless of weather conditions

• Spacing seating and considering adaptations to provide more shelter outdoors (wind breaks and open marquees could be considered)

SOCIAL AND HOSPITALITY

Government guidance in relation to hospitality applies to clubhouses and pavilions serving food and beverages

General Principles

• Outdoor service is preferable• Space needs to be planned to avoid circulation conflicts with team areas• Seating should be side-to-side and face the square if outside• Social distancing should be maintained by managing maximum occupancy, clear guidelines and signage• Signage should also remind people of the need to practice good hygiene• Strong cleaning specification in place,• Increase waste with disposable items..

• Toilets should be checked and cleaned regularly

• Disposable paper towels are preferred for hand drying

• Signage should remind of the need or good hygiene

Cleaning regimes

• An all surface clean should take place daily pre or post opening

PPE AND FIRST AID (1/2)

First Aid

• Providing First Aid is essential

• First Aid kits should be accessible even if parts of buildings are closed

• Check that Automated External Defibrillators are working and serviced

• St John’s Ambulance have developed useful guidance

https://www.sja.org.uk/get-advice/first-aid-advice/covid-19-advice-for-first-aiders/

Hand cleaning

• Hand washing is recommended but sanitiser use may be needed to avoid queues

• Assess where needed – on field/entrances/food & beverage service/junior registration

• A small table and bottle of hand sanitiser (60% min alcohol) can suffice as a station

PPE AND FIRST AID (2/2)

What to do if there is a suspected COVID case

• People who are ill should not come to your facility

• If someone falls ill then they should travel home if safe to do so

• If they are not able to travel they should be isolated and someone from their household contacted

• If that is not possible then phone 111 and follow instructions

• The isolation area will need to be well ventilated then cleaned using appropriate PPE and cleaning products

Face coverings

• Face coverings may form part of a 1m+ social distancing strategy

• Government advice on face coverings can be found here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/staying-safe-outside-your-home/staying-safe-outside-your-home#face-coverings

TIMELINES

• Clubs should not open until they are ready to do so

• A staggered start may be necessary – it may be possible to start gameplay before hospitality or vice versa

• It may take longer to get ready due to constraints around social distancing

• Access to suppliers and materials may add time

• Breweries

• Contractors

• Specialists

• Communication with members will be important to manage expectations
