SECTION I A MESSAGE FROM THE ARCHBISHOP

Death

I am sorry to inform you of the death of Bishop Dominic Luong. Bishop Luong died December 6, 2017. I will attend his funeral at Christ Cathedral in Orange Grove, CA on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 10:00 AM. Please pray for Bishop Luong, his family, and all who mourn his death. May he rest in peace.

Announcements

Christmas Caroling in Jackson Square will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017. All are welcome.

The Ministerial Council will meet on Monday, December 18, 2017, at Notre Dame Seminary at 9:00 AM.

Please pray for the administrative staff of the archdiocese as they participate in an Advent Morning of Reflection on December 21, 2017, followed by Mass and a luncheon. Offices will be closed while staff attend this gathering.

The Archdiocesan Administrative offices will be closed from Friday, December 22, 2017, through Monday, January 1, 2018, for the Christmas holidays. The offices will re-open on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

The Epiphany gathering for priests will take place on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. It will

Death Mr. John Loc Van Nguyen, the father of Fr. Paul Van Tung Nguyen died at the age of 95, on Sunday, December 3, 2017, in Vietnam. Please keep Fr. Nguyen, his family, and all who mourn his death in your prayers.

Annulment Writing Workshop

The Archdiocese of New Orleans will offer a writing workshop for persons seeking an annulment in the Cath-olic Church or for persons responding to an annulment. The workshop will be held in Providence Hall at Our Lady of Divine Providence in Metairie. The series will be for five (5) Tuesdays, January 16, January 23, Janu-ary 30, February 6 and February 20, 2018. Hours are 7:30-9:00 PM. The materials for the series cost $25.00. Witness to Love Marriage Prep Training

The Office of Marriage and Family Life along with St. Rita Catholic Church in Harahan are excited to offer a training for clergy and parish marriage preparation coordinators who are interested in the new Witness to Love marriage preparation program now available in the Archdiocese. The training will be held Friday, Jan-uary 26, 2018, from 6:30-9:00 PM at St. Rita in Harahan. The cost is $55 per person or $65 per couple and includes program materials, online resources, and ongoing support for parishes who take advantage of Wit-ness to Love. Spirituality for the Second Half of Life (Northshore)

A program of Faith Reflection on the meaning and possibilities of the second half of life transition and be-yond.
