GTA Board Officer Changes

The GTA Board held their annualofficer elections in May. Erica Bogardof SIGMADESIGN is newly GTA BoardPresident and Greg Davis ofOverwatch Imaging is newly GTABoard Vice-President. ChristyChristopher of the Gorge STEM Hubcontinues as Treasurer. The GTAsincerely appreciates the work of allof our Board members and especiallylong-time past officers Mike Grahamof Real Carbon and Steve Olson ofSightLine Applications, who continueon the Board.

GTA at AUVSI Xponential 2019

In early May, the GTA attended the national annualconference and trade show for AUVSI (the Associationof Unmanned Vehicle Systems International) and hosteda networking event in partnership with our UAScompanies. The event was a great success in buildingbusiness connections for our companies with plans inplace for a repeat in 2020. The GTA is also workingtowards a coordinated trade show booth presence in2020. Stay tuned!

Corwin Hardham Memorial Scholarship WinnerAnnounced

The GTA received 19 applications for our annual collegescholarship for Gorge youth pursuing degrees in science,tech, engineering or math. Our scholarship is named inhonor of Corwin Hardham and housed at the GorgeCommunity Foundation. After careful consideration,Andrea Morales of Hood River Valley High School waschosen as this year's scholarship winner! Andrea plansto pursue a degree in medicine. Gorge STEM Fair on June 7

Join the GTA and others on June 7th (5-7 pm) for theGorge STEM Fair, hosted by the Columbia Gorge STEMHub! With lots of hands-on activities for youth, thestreets of downtown Hood River will be lined withbooths hosted by local businesses, organizations, andschool groups whose core work is in science,technology, engineering, and/or mathematics.

This is a great opportunity to explore together as acommunity and learn about STEM work being done inour region.
