What you need…


Hangout needsInternet (wired is best)

On mobile: Download Hangouts app

On desktop/laptop: Download Google Voice and Video plugin (the first time you Hangout, follow the prompts)


HOA needsInternet (wired is best)

On desktop/laptop: Google Voice and Video

Gmail/Google Plus account

YouTube Channel linked to your G+ account


YouTube Live needsInternet (wired. period. minimum speed of 5 MB)

Everything you need for HOA (if broadcasting that way)

Going pro? You need an encoder (like Wirecast for YouTube)

Plus, firewire/cables to external camera & audio


Here’s how to link your page to YouTube (and your personal account).


YouTube Set Up1. Log into YouTube with your page’s email. 2. Go to Channel settings-> Features -> Enable live events. 3. Link to your G+ page.


Before you link G+ page to YouTube, heed this!

When you invite people, they’re invited to watch and sent to a page.

Event page is easy to edit & operate when you go live.


YouTube Live Event page

Can start now or schedule for later.

Allows greater technical control.

There’s no event page, just a watch page.

Best for YouTube Live Events.
