What is Google Docs?

- A free web based processor with many collaborative features- While there are 6 document variations, our tutorial focuses on the word

processor capability (the first and finest in the “Create New” drop down)

Create a Gmail Account

Click on the image above to sign-up for a Gmail account.

- A Gmail account is needed to create and edit a Google Doc.- Gmail accounts are free.

Change the Title

- Generate a title for your Google Doc with one click and change the title with another click

- Google Docs will automatically save your title changes

Sharing- Sharing your Google Doc is the foundation of multi-user collaboration - Invite Gmail account users to your Google Doc so they can view and

edit your document- Feel free to send the document to a non Gmail account user, but take

note that they will (1) receive the document as an attachment and (2) they will not be able to participate in any real-time functions
