GOOD Worldwide, LLC Launches first Global NEIGHBORDAYOn April 27, 2013, GOOD Worldwide will celebrate with neighborhoods in over 200 cities across 22 countries to

meet and connect with their neighbors and rebuild their communities

LOS ANGELES, April 12, 2013 GOOD Worldwide, LLC, a community of people who give a damn, will be hosting the first annual globacampaign, Neighborday, Saturday, April 27, 2013, with over 2,000 registered neighborhood events around the world. This globalholiday honors and encourages neighbors to connect with neighbors in the spirit of interdependence.

Today, the definition of neighbor has changed and many of our neighborhoods have become ones that celebrate the individual ratherthan the family, the self rather community. According to Pew research, 67 percent of American adults know only some or none of theirneighbors by name, while more than half of Americans are on Facebook, according to Forbes. GOOD hopes that launchingNeighborday will change this.

Neighborday is about creating a new story, said Kyla Fullenwider, an educator, writer, and social designer at GOOD. Its abouttranscending the old story of self to create a new story of us. Its about expanding our definition of self to include those who live aboveus, below us, and next to us. Its a call to action of the most important kind: to let our neighbors in, and to build more self-reliant streets, blocks, and neighborhoods, together.

GOOD community members all over the world have committed to hosting celebrations in their neighborhoods, including Erin Guido, who will be giving hugs in Cleveland Ohio, and Marcia Braga, who will be making orange jams for her neighbors at Projeto Vizinhana inSan Paolo.

GOOD is also excited to announce its partnerships around Neighborday with other organizations that share its objectives, includingTOMS, 826 National, Nextdoor, and Whole Planet Foundation. GOOD has formed partnerships with nonprofit organizations andcorporations to enhance community engagement through its various outlets since its founding. GOODs global community consists ofGOOD.is, a social network where community members can connect with ideas and tools for progress, GOOD Magazine, a quarterlypublication that reflects the activity and impact the community creates, and GOOD/Corps, which partners with member companiesand organizations to align their social impact efforts with organization success.
