Good morning everyone,

The honourable ones the principle of SMA Swasta R.A.Kartini, all teachers especially Ms..., and all of

my friends from tenthtwo.

!irst of all, " want to than# God for giving us health and time so that we can gather together here

today.

"t is a great honour for me to stand right here in front of all of you to give a speech about education

under the title %Studying for score&'

Tal#ing about %Studying( in our ages now, " thin# it)s li#e a never ending story and li#e our daily

breath. !rom our parents, grandparents, uncle and aunt, till our neighbour have us to study correctly.

And " thin# that advice had never change from our #indergarten until our senior high school. Maybe,

around of you have been being bored about study. !rom #indergarten till senior high school, our daily

school life is never changing. *a#e up in the morning and go to school, listen to the teacher)s lecture,

sudden +ui, monthly test, and do homewor#. After school, attend cram school, repeat the studied

lesson in home. And then, day has been night and you have spent all day for studying.

-ut, are you sure that that your studying process every day is a correct way of studying&

*hy do " as# you that +uestion&

onestly, because " am worried that all of you started to thin# that the definition of studying is

following the academic activities in school, remember the school lesson, and afford to score a high

score in every lesson.

%So what should we do& /o you #now how hard to be a student in "ndonesia nowadays& *hy our

parents, teachers as# us to study hard& /on)t we have struggle for studying to fulfil their re+uest&

And we thin# we spend all day 0ust for studying.(

"t)s not because " don)t agree how hard the struggle of students in "ndonesia. -ut what " mean here is

the definition of studying process that we have do is only studying not learning. A bit

reflection about "ndonesia education condition, "ndonesia ran#ed second from below around 12

countries in an academic test that includes Mathematic, $ogic, and $anguages in 3453.

Ran#ed second from below around 12 countries won)t be a proudness at all but 0ust a reflection for all

of us. Why? Why did a big country like Indonesia rank second from below in that test? Are

students from another country are smarter and more diligent than Indonesia students? Or

whether Indonesia students are dummies?

To answer all that +uestions, allow me to share about Google Science !air pro0ect that organied

annually. "n this pro0ect, the students around 56 7 58 years old show their s#ill to share what they have

done in their school.

!irst, a 51 years old girl, 9lif -ilgin from "stanbul, Tur#ey won 3 awards. Those are Scientific

American Science in Action Award and :oter)s ;hoice Award. So what has she done in her young

age& 9lif that loves doing chemist eew /elhi, you won)t find

any traffic light. -ecause of that, vehicle li#e ambulance and fire brigade car that should be

prioritied, are very hard to arrive to the destination on time. Still, "ndia also have a problem with

people social awareness to prioritie 9R: =9mergencyRespond :ehicle@.
