Handle stale dates Never just leave your bank rec when it confirms you are not in balance.. Dont open the new year, dont do the next bank rec Never add a new bank statement until your last one says you are in balance.. Not just your bank statement equalling 0! BANK REC BEST P RACTICES For us means YTD Bank Balance versus Bank statement ending balance factor outstanding cash receipt & cheques FINDING PROBLEMS Journal Entry to the bank account and an expense account Voiding pre-CIMS items and not handling in your G/L Not being in balance to your yearstart figures (expense accounts dont add up to the bank account Plugging your bank statement Adjustments Handling odd items like multiple bank accounts and/or interest incorrectly BEING IN BALANCE We hope you found this webinar helpful.
