Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course The Shore Course is a naturally contoured, gently flowing, seaside course playing through coastal grasslands and rolling sand dunes. Redesigned by Mike Strantz in 2003, this 6,956 yard par-72 course maximizes ocean vistas and the incorporation of natural rock, while minimizing cart paths to blend in more with the existing environment.

Pebble Beach Golf Links

Spyglass Hill Golf Course

Since 1919, the exquisite beauty and unique challenge of Pebble Beach Golf Links have thrilled golfers and spectators alike. Designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant, the course hugs the rugged coastline, providing wide-open vistas, cliffside fairways and sloping greens.

Spyglass Hill Golf Course is rated one of the toughest courses in the world from the Championship tees, boasting a course rating of 75.5 and a slope rating of 147. The PGA TOUR consistently lists Spyglass Hill’s holes 6, 8 and 16 among the toughest on the TOUR, and during the 1999 United States Amateur, the stroke average of the field during medal play was in excess of 79.

The East London golf course features a unique natural course layout, measuring 6,163 meters (6,740 yards) for the tournament. The course meanders through coastal dunes and dense, indigenous bush.

The course is enhanced by striking natural scenery overlooking the Indian Ocean and offers breathtaking views of Nahoon Reef, a world-famous surfing spot. The course has hosted six South African Opens and a number of Amateur Championships. It requires stamina and accuracy from players, who must contend with steep climbs up and down the dunes and more often than not, contend with a fierce wind whistling through the valleys. Prize fund: €1 million

The Sunshine Tour announced a record-breaking sixth tournament co-sanctioned by the European Tour with the Tshwane Open to be played from 28 February to 3 March in 2013. The €1.5 million event will be the richest on the Sunshine Tour, which means the winner will earn a two-year exemption on the European Tour.

It will be played at The Els Club Copperleaf, owed by the one and only Big Ernie Els

The grip should be slightly weaker than your normal grip with the right hand definitely more on top of the grip.

1

Set up with the ball forward in your stance.

2

Set up to the ball with your feet and shoulder alignment very open. Make your swing in line with your body, making your swing very out to in, finishing with your swing to the left of your intended target. Do not use too much hand action as this will result in the ball going too far and left of target. A lot of people tend to shank these as they do not swing out to in, but towards the target. This is a big mistake when trying to hit lofted chip/pitch shots.

With the pole extended both sides, and across your shoulders, take your address posture.

1

Rotate the pole to 90 degrees, if possible. Make the turn as natural as possible, without dipping the pole to the ground.

2

Keep the rotation going all the way to the finish of the swing. By using a pole as long as this, you will see a better turn rather than a tilt or a dip and maintain your height.

4

Rotate the pole back, through impact position, with the weight transferring towards your left leg.

3

Perfect your turnA simple golf drill to help you turn properly, using a ball retriever.
