Four beautifully maintained championship golf courses set Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa as the premier golf destination in Northern Illinois. No other golf resort in the region so perfectly incorporates the surrounding natural landscape of rolling hills and woodlands into such a challenging and rewarding test of golf. Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa features 63 holes throughout the four distinctive golf courses. Each course – North, South, East and The General – plays out of its own clubhouse, complete with a golf shop, restaurant or snack bar. Surrounded by plush greens, these flawless grounds offer both 9 and 18-hole games. Personal instruction is offered by PGA professionals and reservations are required.

THE GENERALEagle Ridge’s crowning achievement, The General, designed by Roger Pack-ard and two-time U.S. Open Champion Andy North, opened to rave reviews in 1997. For 12 years in a row it has ranked in the top 100 golf courses by Golf Digest magazine. With a 250-foot elevation change throughout, it boasts spec-tacular views of the tri-state area. The signature hole is #14, a par 4 with 180 feet of elevation change from tee to green.

THE NORTH COURSEOpened in 1977, the North Course is characterized by scenic elevated tee boxes and rewards golfers with long vistas throughout The Galena Territory country-side and a unique view of Lake Galena. The signature hole is #8, which is a 165- yard par 3 with 80 feet of elevation change from tee to green. The tee shot on #8 crosses the corner of Lake Galena, opening up to a spectacular view of the lake and its abundant rock outcroppings.

THE EAST COURSEAt a par 34 and 9-holes, The East Course is ideal for beginners, juniors and for those looking to play a shorter course through undu-lating greens and beautiful rock outcroppings. The signature hole is #3, a short, tight par 4 with a stream running up the left and a 30-foot rock wall along the right. The hole plays 290 yards through a quiet, secluded valley.

THE COURSES

THE SOUTH COURSEOpened in 1984 and voted one of the top 75 upscale courses in the country, the South Course winds through a beautiful wooded valley where streams come into play on 11 of the 18 holes. The signature hole is #18, a 406-yard par 4 with the tee set 90 feet above a lake guarded landing area and a stream that crosses the fairway 265 yards from the tee. The second shot plays uphill to a well-bun-kered elevated green. Although shorter in yardage than our other courses, The South is the most difficult and the place to test your accuracy and shot-making skills.

Golf Studio: The golf simulator room, located at the INN, has over 22 golf courses to choose from. The simulator room can be rented individually or with groups. Lessons and golf club fittings are available.

The golf courses have seasonal hours of operation. Please call ahead for specific times. The North Course is open year round based on weather conditions. Our South Course turns into our Nordic Center and is open from December - March weather permitting.
