De nuestro deseo de crear una serie única nace esta colección de lavabos con acabados dorados. Desde el alba de los tiempos el oro ha fascinado al ser humano, a todas las culturas y civilizaciones. El más noble de los metales sigue ejerciendo sobre nosotros una atracción fuerte e intensa que queríamos transmitir a través de esta colección. Deseábamos que toda esta magia dorada pudiera entrar en diversos entornos, sin importar si estos estaban alineados con una decoración clásica u otra más contemporánea. La magia del oro convierte esta serie de lavabos de Bathco en un invitado perfecto.

Out of the desire to create a unique series comes this collection of washbasins finished in gold. Since the dawn of time, gold has fascinated human beings in all cultures and civilisations. The most noble of metals continues to exert a strong and intense attraction on us that we wanted to transmit through this collection. We wanted this golden magic to be welcome in diverse settings, regardless of whether these were aligned with classical décor or a more contemporary style. The magic of gold makes this series of Bathco washbasins the perfect guest.

Atemporales, únicas, versátiles, modernas y, a la vez, clásicas. El reto no era sencillo: diseñar una línea de piezas de porcelana vestidas con el metal más noble, capaces de ubicarse en todo tipo de espacios. Capaces también de comulgar con el gusto de sus propietarios, ya fuera éste conservador o, por el contrario, se decantara por propuestas más atrevidas. Necesitábamos crear lavabos tan imperecederos y ajenos a las modas como el material dorado del que toman la inspiración directa. Y necesitábamos hacerlo sin traicionarlo pero dejando huella allá donde fueran instalados.

Timeless, unique, versatile, modern and yet classic pieces. This was no simple challenge: to design a series of porcelain pieces dressed up in the most noble of metals, capable of existing in all types of spaces. And also capable of communing with their owners’ taste, whether this be conservative or, conversely, inclined towards bolder propositions. We needed to create washbasins as enduring and far outside fashion trends as the golden material from which they take their direct inspiration. And we needed for them to do so without betraying this inspiration but making a statement wherever they were installed.

Queríamos una pieza que dinamizara los espacios pero no les restara protagonismo. Que estuviera presente sin diluir la importancia de otros elementos que contribuyen a crear un hogar. De esta forma, diseñamos un lavabo que se relacionara con fluidez con su entorno, sin importar las maderas o los minerales que decoraran éste, y que no comprometiera en exceso la estancia. Como el champagne rosado, la pieza es un guiño a una elegancia sutil, a un saber estar que deja huella en los espacios pero sin estridencias. Su tacto, suave y con la rugosidad propia de un mate ligero, acentúa todas esas buenas sensaciones

We wanted a piece that would add dynamism to spaces, but without overshadowing them. For it to be present without diluting the importance of other elements that contribute to creating a home. With this in mind, we designed a washbasin that would relate fluidly to its environment, regardless of the woods or minerals used to decorate it, and which would not overly dominate the room. Like pink champagne, the piece is a nod to a subtle elegance, a savoir-faire, which makes a statement in spaces, but without stridency. Its texture, smooth and with the roughness typical of a light matte finish, accentuates all of these agreeable sensations.

El damasquinado es una técnica artesana con una tradición milenaria. Consiste en aplicar finos hilos de oro y plata a piezas de metal para luego trabajar las formas y los relieves. Dominarlo es trabajo sólo de maestros pero el resultado es, siempre, deslumbrante. Con estos mismos valores, ideamos las piezas de esta colección, evocando esa misma pasión por el detalle y el gusto por las miniaturas más precisas. Son diseños que se ven pero también se acarician, ideales para espacios con una doble lectura: minimalistas y naturales en una primera mirada pero complejos en una segunda.

Damascene is an artisanal technique with a thousand-year-old tradition. It consists of applying fine gold and silver threads to metal pieces to later work the forms and reliefs. Virtuosity in this technique is the province of maestros, but the result is always stunning. With these same values, we came up with the pieces for this collection, evoking this same passion for detail and love of the most precise miniatures. These are designs that are seen but also caressed, ideal for spaces with a dual reading: minimalist and natural at first glance, and complex upon a second look.

La plata es hermana del oro. Brilla y deslumbra pero lo hace en una dimensión diferente a la del dorado. Tiene una mirada especial que estudiamos cómo volcar en una serie de lavabos. No queríamos dar la espalda a su esencia –a ese carácter gélido, diáfano, casi neutro del que presume– sino domarla lo justo para que fluyera en espacios pensados para ella. La colección Silver profundiza en esa idea y se adapta a estancias de una tonalidad sobria, huye de estridencias y busca la cara más geométrica, más humilde, del color. Con ellas conectará al igual que un guante de seda se adapta a la piel humana.

Silver is the sister metal of gold. It gleams and dazzles, but it does so in a different dimension than gold. It has a special look and we studied how to imbue a washbasin series with this. We didn’t want to turn our back on its essence –on this icy, diaphanous, almost neutral character that it displays– but to dominate it just enough for it to ripple through spaces designed for it. The Silver Collection explores this idea further and adapts to rooms with muted tones, avoids strident notes and seeks the most geometric and humble face of the colour. It will connect with these rooms the same way a silk glove fits over a person’s skin.
