What is oral history?Що таке усна історія?

■ Systematic collection of people’s evidence of their experience. No gossip or folklore. This is an audio- or video recording of human memories, unique experience of a certain person. Систематичний збір свідчень живих людей про їхній досвід. Це не плітки і не фольклор. Це – запис на аудіо- чи відеоплівку людських спогадів, унікального досвіду конкретної людини.

■ People who deal with oral history try to check and analyze the achieved results, place them in the historical context.Люди, що займаються усною історією, намагаються перевірити та проаналізувати отримані результати, вписати їх у історичний контекст.
