Letter from the Head CoachOn behalf of the players and coaches, I

would like to welcome you to tonight’s game and thank you for supporting the football program at Great Oak High School

The young men you see performing on the field have dedicated themselves to hundreds of hours of hard work in the weight room and on the practice field. I am extremely excited about our 2013 squad My coaching staff is confident that our young student athletes are well prepared to compete with an extremely challenging non-league schedule, as well as the extremely tough Southwestern League. It takes a special person and athlete to meet the demands of the Great Oak Football Program and the young men you see before you have put in the sweat, pain, and sacrifice to earn their place on the roster We have always taken pride at Great Oak about the quality of men our football program produc-es As a coaching staff, we are quite proud of the integrity demonstrated in our players and their commitment to academics

As everyone knows, a program is only as strong as the people who back it The Great Oak PSG is truly second to none We could not be more blessed with the abso-lutely awesome parent support we have All

the coaches want to extend our sincerest gratitude for the effort and many hours our PSG has volunteered to build the football program Thank you for supporting your stu-dent athletes at the snack bar and all other football activities

Great Oak football would not be where we are without the dedication of our coaching staff I want to thank each and every one of our coaches for the enthusiasm and exper-tise they bring to the field every day. I would also be remiss if I did not take a moment to thank the wives of our coaching staff for the patience and understanding they show over the time my staff puts in to mold these young athletes

Last, but not least, I would like to give a special thanks to the administration, staff, and faculty at Great Oak High School Our Co-Principals, Keith Moore and Marc Horton, and our athletic director, Gil Rodriguez, have shown tremendous support for my goals and vision for the program

Enjoy tonight’s game

Support our athletes the RED WAVE WAY ...

With S.P.I.R.I.T.Scholarship

Be smart about your comments. Leave the coaching to the coach. Coaching from the bleachers can be embarrassing to you and those seated around you.

PassionEnjoy the energy of high school competition. Keep the enthusiasm positive, fun and within the rules of safety and CIF regulations.

IntegrityFans should focus on positive cheers and avoid jeers and negative remarks. It’s the right thing to do!

ReflectionDuring the heat of competition, stopping to reflect about a controversial play or official’s call can pro-vide time to process an appropriate response.

InvolvementPositive support from family, friends and staff means a lot to our athletes. Cheer for good effort - it’s okay to recognize a good play by the opponent. Refrain from intimidating or harassing players, coach-es, officials, or other fans. Remain in assigned seating areas. Use proper language at all times.

TeamWe are all part of the Wolfpack. When talking about our athletes or coaches in the stands, remember to be supportive. Our efforts to positively support our teams can encourage a higher level of performance.

The Great Oak Varsity Cheer squad is so excited for this season! This is the largest Varsity squad in GOHS history, with 36 exceptional athletes, comprised of 21 Seniors and 15 Juniors

In addition to cheering at Football games, we also support Water Polo, Volleyball, Wrestling and both Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball Our girls are very active in the community, attend-ing Relay for Life, supporting Our Nicholas Foundation for Autism, and volunteering at various other events in Temecula

Our girls are also asked regularly to attend American Idol, X Factor, Dancing with the Stars, and So You

Think You Can Dance Their en-ergy and enthusiasm is contagious

Our cheerleaders also excel in the classroom with most of our squad maintaining a minimum of a 3 5 GPA

We are anticipating a successful season and look forward to support-ing the Wolfpack this year! I am so proud of this squad and can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us!

The award-winning Spirit of Great Oak Band & Guard takes to the field in 2013 bigger, stronger and younger The 160 member Band & Guard is made up of a talented Sr Class, aspiring sopho-mores and juniors, and a large freshman class – by the time our Freshman are ready to graduate, The Spirit of Great Oak will truly be Great in size and stature

The Spirit Band & Color Guard continued their successful ways over the past year earning a spot in the Top 10 of Southern California, Arizona and Nevada For the seventh year in a row, the Great Oak Drum Line was a State Finalist The Band has made appearances in The Fiesta Bowl National Band Championships in Arizona in 2006

and 2012, and in 2009 The Band was honored to be a part of the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D C Perhaps the most prestigious recognition, however, is the Spirit Band & Guard’s Performance in London for the 2013 New Year’s Day Parade

This fall marks the last year in a cycle of com-petitive field shows built to bring awareness and celebration to Great Oak High School’s 10th year Once again, the Spirit Band & Guard will be per-forming original music by Vail Ranch Band Direc-tor, Randy Dulaney This year the Spirit Band & Guard performs music entitled “Discovering our Spirit – The Great Oak ” The show portrays the development of our school through the analogy

of the Great Oak tree Movements are entitled “Birth;” “Lightning Strike;” “Oak Cathedral;” and “Celebration ” Be sure to listen & watch for the show to develop at each of our home games

A “Great Oak thank you,” goes out to President Ann Shaw and our incredible Band Boosters; the football team; the Football Boosters; The ASB; The Air Force JROTC; The Pep Squad; The Dance Team; the Step Team and each of their booster groups for your continuous support of The Spirit of Great Oak Band & Guard We are proud to be a part of the Great Oak community

The Spirit Band & Guard look forward to a great fall season with Coaches Robinson & McCullough and the 2013 Varsity Wolf Pack Football Team

A special thanks to the sponsorsabove who donated food to feedthe Wolfpack this season!
