    PART I:

INTRODUCTION: ako po ang unang tinamnan (imbisna tinamaan pag tinamaan, parang bato; pag

    tinamnam: seed yun)

PART II:BODY1Co 1:2-5 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that aresanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place callupon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

    I. We are already saints of GOD (1 Corinthians 1:2, the sanctified, calledsaints.) We dont need canonization. What GOD declares in HIS WORD.

    That is so.

A.How the Catholic church makes someone a saint

Saints: "Saint" (contracted "St" or "S.") To be canonized a saint, at least

one miracle is necessary. Canonization is a statement by the church that

the person certainly enjoys the Beatific Vision. The saint is assigned a feast

day which maybe celebrated anywhere within the Catholic Church,

although it may or may not appear on the general calendar or local

calendars as an obligatoryfeast, parish churches may be built in his or her

honor, and the faithful may freely and without restriction celebrate and

    honor the saint.

Although a recognition of sainthood by the pope does not directly concern a

fact of divine revelation, it must still be "definitively held" by the faithful as

infallible under (at the very least) the Universal Magisterium of the

Church since it is a truth connected to revelation by historical

    necessity.[10][11]

    The Steps of Canonization

Here are the steps that must be followed in the process of canonization:

  • 8/8/2019 God's Choice

    2/23

    1. A local bishop investigates the candidate's life and writings forevidence of heroic virtue. The information uncovered by the bishopis sent to the Vatican.

    2. A panel of theologians and the cardinals of the Congregation forCause of Saints evaluate the candidate's life.

    3. If the panel approves, the pope proclaims that the candidate isvenerable, which means that the person is a role model of Catholicvirtues.

    4. The next step toward sainthood is beatification, which allows aperson to be honored by a particular group or region. In order tobeatify a candidate, it must be shown that the person is responsiblefor a posthumous miracle. Martyrs -- those who died for theirreligious cause -- can be beatified without evidence of a miracle. On Oct. 20, 2003, Mother Teresa was beatified. She is now known

as Blessed Mother Teresa ofKolkata.5. In order for the candidate to be considered a saint, there must be

proof of a second posthumous miracle. If there is, the person iscanonized.
