GODDARD AT HOME:F.L.EX.® DAILY ACTIVITY PLANSPRESCHOOL & PRE-K - TRAVEL & TRANSPORTATION

morning meeting

ACTIVITY Discuss with your child how people move from one location to another. For example, you could list cars, trucks, bicycles, boats, scooters and even your feet! Ask what mode of transportation your child likes the best.

Let’s listen to a story about cars. Try the read aloud If I Built a Car by Chris Van Dusen or any book relating to transportation.

LEARNING SKILLS Engaging in conversations

Materials Book or read aloud

Greeting

ACTIVITY Begin the day with positive energy; start your day with a big smile and a “Good morning” to your child!

Have your little one place his or her hands on top of his or her head with fingers laced. Have your child take a deep breath as he or she raises his or her hands into the air (like he or she is filling up a beach ball overhead). See if your child can take an additional quick breath to get a little bit more air into the ball. Hold it for three seconds, if possible. After that, ask your child to slowly release the air out of the pretend beach ball. As it deflates, his or her hands should drop back down to his or her head. See if he or she can make a whistling sound as the air is released from the pretend beach ball. Repeat this three times.
